  1. Don't think he actually works in the club shop now. Hence "former employee".
  2. Ridiculous, my match going career would have been nipped in the bud at the age of 9. Then again that's asanitised 21st century football for you.
  3. What a pig's ear they've made of that situation. I mean Koeman couldn't have done any worse if he'd been left in charge and they're paying him anyway.
  4. Not bad huh ! At least the moaning minnies now know what an "out of his depth" manager looks like.
  5. Shouldn't have sacked the last one, can't see anything to be gained in sacking this one and having another shot at the manager lucky dip. There are only so many managers who'll benefit the team and we'll not get any of them. The solution is get rid of Reed, get better players and keep the manager.
  6. What's the difference between Sunderland and West Brom really. Different league but same standard more or less.
  7. And how many sacked PL managers is that now? Owners and boards have to realise that if you can"t spend 200 million and more on players, you probably won't be Top 6 and your team will be just average. Might as well spend nothing at all as moderate sums really.
  8. And how does that change from the last one ?
  9. So anyway. Remember that Oscar Garcia bloke who was touted a bit on this very forum last summer? Decided that St Etienne were far too poor for him to be able to continue and just quit today.
  10. Why would he want to though. They already have 3 top class CBs and Dier who can fill in there very adequately in case of necessity.
  11. When we (meaning the owner) ran out of money I suspect.
  12. What can you expect for 2 totally pointless international games really. Obviously the play-offs have some importance but the rest is just to fill the coffers of national associations. Top players have largely enough games as it is without worthless friendlies.
  13. When Pochettino left.
  14. Why are they using the Last Post at football matches anyway ? Might be more relevent when they stop these pesky international breaks so that Remembrance Sunday for football does not fall on or about All Saints Day. That way there will be no confusion as to the occasion being celebrated. All Saints for those gone within the year, Last Post for the fallen military who nobody has ever clapped.
  15. And exactly why would they give up the jobs that they already have for an inferior club ?? You have to face it, we are very far from the top of the pecking order for both players and managers.
  16. Certainly not. You do realise that in what, a bit above 3 years, we'd have gone from Pochettino, probably one of the world's finest young managers at this time to Bilic who's just been sacked by West Ham for some pretty dire performances. That would be like going from shopping at Harrods to shopping at Poundwise . We'd need to get a young go ahead guy with some sort of early promise behind him and not the first old lag that we could get to sign for us. Nevertheless I don't think we'll give up on Pellegrino just yet.
  17. Probably didn't fancy playing for a fat peasant like Unsworth.
  18. Absolutely, a regular 20 goal a season striker makes any manager look good.
  19. No, just no.
  20. They did buy Keane though, thought he started quite well. Just seems to have all collapsed like a house of cards. Perhaps Unsworth has been trying to get the job in the background for a while now. Know nothing about him really but seems if he might be that sort of bloke.
  21. Sacking Puel was a dumb thing to do. Now that we have we need to stick with the manager that we have because there is no real guarantee that whoever we appoint will be any better.
  22. They shouldn't have re-signed Roose the Booze.
  23. Now I raised his lack of premier league experience before he was appointed. I was assured by the forum experts that as he'd been assistant to Benitez at Scouse, then he had all the experience needed. Thing is we ain't in 2007 any more and the PL has vastly changed as many managers are finding out just now. However, clubs just cannot keep on hiring managers and sacking them a few months afterwards. That has to change really. Perhaps it's the people choosing the managers that need to change at this time.
  24. Well I thought we controlled the game in the main, but if you can't score you're always just an opposition break away from going behind. Football is, and always has been, about scoring more goals than the opposition. All of the rest is just auxilliary.
  25. Not such a good eye for a manager after all then !! https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?58744-MP-Sweepstake/page2&highlight=Pellegrino#.Wf3wiFvWy1s
