They have another 2 weeks or so to find a replacement, they probably just don't want to.

Transfer Deadline Day thread
Window Cleaner replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
they probably do actually. Victor isn't looking anywhere near what he was and Dembele is such a bolshy dîck that he's a danger to his team. Watched them the other day in the Cup, not what they used to be in DM/CM. -
Nah I'll give it 7/10. 5 for Carrillo and an extra one each for getting rid of Van Dijk and at least not wasting money on more useless crap like Bednarek and Gardos.
-
Because young hot shots like Sessegnon would just laugh at us. They know already where their destiny lies.
-
So we want to go right down to League 1 is that the plan ?
-
Like Fulham haven't already refused to sell Sessegnon to far better clubs than Saints.
-
Well not that I think that Les is much good for anything much but if we didn't have enough money then that's not entirely his fault. Then again you could argue that if we'd sold VvD when we should have, ie last summer, then all this January stuff could have been avoided by getting whatever needed doing done before August 31.
-
Which should really be largely enough to get more points than three other PL sides. We have enough players, most of them are easily good enough if they're even at 90% of their capacity. Just need to click and score that extra goal to put games away.
-
Who knows really. 35 million in cash is a whole lot of money. Doubt if Monaco were over generous with the payment terms for Carrillo either, another Russian owned outfit.
-
And if we're not in a position to do that ?
-
Probably just turned up early for the match. She'll probably consume a fair number of pies during the day.
-
Spartak probably told them. They know they've got Saints by the danglys. They know the club cave in to fan pressure and they know that fans know all about it.
-
might have been brewing a while though. Popular dailys and football blogs don't know everything.
-
Because that's the way they work. A player literally buys his freedom, there is no never, never on release clauses. A club who which wants to sell may negaociate another sort of deal but if it's a straightforward release clause someone pays and the player is a free agent.
-
Still Mahrez isn't a bad second choice. Don't know how Laporte will hold up at first. Pace of the PL game might be a bit quick for him.
-
Have we not established that there's a buy out clause in activity and that the figure is 30 million something or others ? This is how release clauses work, you pay the exact sum and the player is free to move on no matter what the club holding the contract with the clause wants. Thing is it's usually all payable at once in that case. Clubs may however negociate a lesser sum and different terms but for that they have to want to do that. If they don't well it's pay up or tough titty.
-
But probably for a price that've got the job done a month ago. Spartak don't play in the winter so they'd no interest in hanging on to him except for the full price they want.
-
Spartak are playing Les like the idiot he often appears to be. Let the player come and have a look around, get personal terms and stuff out of the way, make sure the fans know all about it to boot and then turn down every offer until they get whatever it is that they want .
-
No, no you've got it all wrong, the "fans" want a constant stream of new players, costing greater and greater sums. Whether they'll be of any use is neither here nor there.. Last year it was Boufal and then Gabbi followed by Lemina. None of them starts every game though. On the other hand those old faves JWP, Long and Davis start more often than not.
-
So that's about 28.5 million euros then or nigh on 2 billion roubles.
-
As if a release clause for a player in a Russian club would be in euros anyway. All of the figures bandied about are pure guesswork.
-
Just seems to get shunted around at every other window.
-
Don't know how productive that'll be Saintswise. Usual January window, big clubs signing big players, little clubs signing cast-offs and middling clubs scrubbing around in the hope of finding a not too expensive gem somewhere or other.
-
Don't see what Everton would want with Promes. Anyway Patred is a bit of a serial failure when it comes to knowing anything about anything really. One of those people who just make crap up to seem important.
-
Same sort of reason as people who pay for bot followers to make their Twitter account look like it has a lot of followers. It's the modern day equivalent of making up bullshîte stories in pubs to give themselves an important sort of chap aura.
