  1. Probably just turned up early for the match. She'll probably consume a fair number of pies during the day.
  2. Spartak probably told them. They know they've got Saints by the danglys. They know the club cave in to fan pressure and they know that fans know all about it.
  3. might have been brewing a while though. Popular dailys and football blogs don't know everything.
  4. Because that's the way they work. A player literally buys his freedom, there is no never, never on release clauses. A club who which wants to sell may negaociate another sort of deal but if it's a straightforward release clause someone pays and the player is a free agent.
  5. Still Mahrez isn't a bad second choice. Don't know how Laporte will hold up at first. Pace of the PL game might be a bit quick for him.
  6. Have we not established that there's a buy out clause in activity and that the figure is 30 million something or others ? This is how release clauses work, you pay the exact sum and the player is free to move on no matter what the club holding the contract with the clause wants. Thing is it's usually all payable at once in that case. Clubs may however negociate a lesser sum and different terms but for that they have to want to do that. If they don't well it's pay up or tough titty.
  7. But probably for a price that've got the job done a month ago. Spartak don't play in the winter so they'd no interest in hanging on to him except for the full price they want.
  8. Spartak are playing Les like the idiot he often appears to be. Let the player come and have a look around, get personal terms and stuff out of the way, make sure the fans know all about it to boot and then turn down every offer until they get whatever it is that they want .
  9. No, no you've got it all wrong, the "fans" want a constant stream of new players, costing greater and greater sums. Whether they'll be of any use is neither here nor there.. Last year it was Boufal and then Gabbi followed by Lemina. None of them starts every game though. On the other hand those old faves JWP, Long and Davis start more often than not.
  10. So that's about 28.5 million euros then or nigh on 2 billion roubles.
  11. As if a release clause for a player in a Russian club would be in euros anyway. All of the figures bandied about are pure guesswork.
  12. Just seems to get shunted around at every other window.
  13. Don't know how productive that'll be Saintswise. Usual January window, big clubs signing big players, little clubs signing cast-offs and middling clubs scrubbing around in the hope of finding a not too expensive gem somewhere or other.
  14. Don't see what Everton would want with Promes. Anyway Patred is a bit of a serial failure when it comes to knowing anything about anything really. One of those people who just make crap up to seem important.
  15. Same sort of reason as people who pay for bot followers to make their Twitter account look like it has a lot of followers. It's the modern day equivalent of making up bullshîte stories in pubs to give themselves an important sort of chap aura.
  16. Problem with moving on Gardos and his ilk is that no-one wants to pay them anywhere near what we do.
  17. That interest was reported back in December though. Don't think he's overenamoured of Allardyce.
  18. Straightforward 2 nil win for Saints. Probably won't be particularly pretty to watch though.
  19. So why don't we just buy the guy from Anderlecht, save ourselves some money.
  20. Yes they did, lawyer just gave them a cheque (and then they affected the real transfer). Cheque is now framed somewhere or other. Nike probably loaned them the money, same as they did with C Ronaldo. http://www.midilibre.fr/2018/01/18/l-avocat-de-neymar-affiche-fierement-l-enorme-cheque-du-transfert-de-neymar,1615733.php
  21. He is awful....
  22. And we're in it. Only thing that counts in cup competitions really, being in the next round.
  23. But the Russian League has been on winter break for a while now. Last game was about 7 weeks ago I think. Don't start again until March.
  24. In the Equipe piece about it all it states that Carrillo will be replaced by "un joueur de qualité superieure" whether than means the likes of Slimani I just couldn't say. I just do not understand this deal at all. One would think we're desperate to get money into Monaco because Carrillo just isn't worth 22 million euros.
  25. Depends how you rate Austin I suppose and of course Pelle..
