  1. So, not looking great for Warks, one down then, Don't think there'll be a result Surrey-Middlesex and I suppose Essex-Somerset could still go either way but with no batting points for either side. All in all quite a satisfactory round of games for Hants.
  2. Unless of course he's like Imbula, big money move to Inter, then to Stoke and now I see that he's on loan at Toulouse for the season, big step forwards, 2 giant steps backwards. Were not some keen on signing him for Saints at one time. Good enough player, lamentable attitude apparently, what can you expect from Marseille though.
  3. Oh they'll give up alright, probably would have already if it wasn't for the daft international break. Expect them to start up again come November though. I just hope he makes it worth keeping him until then.
  4. You'd think so wouldn't you. This is why I questioned VvD buying himself out for 17 million or so. Perhaps they all have crap lawyers eh..
  5. Bayern seem to be desperate enough to get rid of him them. Isn't that a bit unlike them though ?
  6. Different number that says "Can you pick him up before 11 tomorrow, we'll make it worth your while".
  7. But what about Hurn Airport. You must know what it's called if you've checked with the man on the doors surely. Hearn is a sort of Stag God in Saxon mythology I think.
  8. Agent.... All this tapping up nonsense is ridiculous, we live in a free world and if some Liverpool exec wants to tell Ox's agent what they could in theory offer him if they were willing etc then no-one can stop them.
  9. And the answer to all that is mandatory release clauses. Club can set them sky high but there is always a door if you have the wherewithal to open it.
  10. Well I think the basic process is buyer discusses with agent, names price, agent puts deal to seller and then reports required amount to buyer. Only when the sides are fairly close do the official written bids start coming in. It's an informal process in the main. That way each side is free to deny any formal contact in case it sets a precedent and eliminates any eventual element of deniability. The world now works through back channels in the main.
  11. Obviously not, shouldn't have bought him in the first place, far too small for modern day English football in a DM role.
  12. Isn't Chamberlain somewhere with the England team at this moment ? And Lallana would have no great reason to return to Liverpool yesterday in a private jet. He's injured and they have no match for 10 days or so. Not that I really believe that it's anything to do with VvD but he'd certainly avoid Southampton Airport anyway.
  13. And what would he lose by sitting out those 20 games out of principal ? Even if he received not a penny of salary it would cost him about a million in salary which any club buying him in January would happily give him back especially if they got him for 20 million less. FIFPro is going to make a meal out of all of these cases that are being thrown up in the UK this summer, never have there been so many in a single window.
  14. The point here being that Vectis suggested he could buy himself out of his contract for 17 million or so but not have his registration released. That would be restriction of trade I believe. So if it t'were in fact possible to buy yourself out of a contract for relatively little then then transfer system would collapse anyway. Which is what FIFPro have been pushing for these last years. They have recently asked the European Commission to look into the legality of transfer fees once again. It may go on for years again but so did the Bosman case.
  15. Thing is that at window close minus 36 hours or so and most gifted players on international duty somewhere or other, last minute transfers will need a bit of logistical prowess. Can see private charter jet people making a few swans tomorrow. Strange situation with a transfer window close right in the middle of a WC qualifier fortnight.
  16. Really ? So he could buy himself out for 17 million and then lodge an action for restriction of trade, in which he'd no doubt be successful. I don't know that that's really a possiblity actually. Needs to take his case to FIFPro if he hasn't already.
  17. There's another sad case which shouldn't exist. Sakho seems to have no chance of playing for Liverpool again and other clubs are seemingly willing to give him a new start. Yet Liverpool can refuse offers over and above the amount they paid for him and restrict his right to play. FiFPro lodged a suit a couple of years back to end all of this but don't think it ever made any great progress.
  18. he wants to go there as well. Had his people plant stories about him being on the point of signing for St Etienne (I know right!) just to gee up Inter. It was found out and Inter backed off for a while.
  19. Which he should be able to buy himself out of as in Spain. Circumstances change and a way out should always be defined from the outset. This isn't even about money, we'll no doubt be offered large compensation, it's about stubborness and self interest because certain mouthpieces of the club insist in talking themselves into corners every summer. VvD has an easy way out, start playing again and be voluntarily crap, doubt if he'll do that though. Needs some player held against his will from going to a better job (cos that's all it is) to do it, clubs won't be silly again.
  20. We shall see, he probably won't need to sit out the whole season, if he sits out the 20 or so games between now and January we'll be going cap in hand to whomsover is willing to give us a few quid for him. I hope he does because I am absolutely against any person being held anywhere against their free will.
  21. You really, really wouldn't, well not the bloke who turned out at PSG last season on occasions anyway. He may be good in fantasy football, he may have looked good in girls football in Spain but he was just atrocious last season.
  22. He's probably leaving to maintain the standard of football to which he's been accustomed. Couldn't wait to dump us to get into that there Champion's League and now they're out of it with no guaranteed return at any time in the foreseeable future. This is a lesson to "big clubs" spend money to maintain your level or your players will desert you at the first oppotunity.
  23. Or online bookies rustling up a few more swans before Friday comes and the golden goose goes into hibernation for a few months.
  24. Seems so, and yet they all seem to want Argentines and Brazilians that they know absolutely sod all about, apart from their fantasy football statistics that is.
  25. Isn't he on loan at Besiktas from Benfica ?
