Bit of help from the wicket or the climatic conditions perhaps.2 caught behind and maybe one in the slips or the gully.

Delap is signed on at Stoke for a while yet,end of next season or the season after maybe. These "free agent lists" aren't very up to date, they probably were at one time but don't seem to take account of contract extensions during the season.. Here you go http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6870624,00.html Looks like he never was a free agent this summer though.

Norwich have been flogging their STs for next season since last December. Full rate works out at £18.41 per match, work it out for yourselves; There's a waiting list and adults have to pay a £50 deposit to get on to it.I guess the price is 23x£18.41 though and not 19x. Later sales might have incurred a VAT rise as well.
-
Your list is out of date Glasgow, plenty of those have signed contract extensions since.
-
Still don't see them selling anywhere near that though. Perhaps there's been an upsurge in demand as it will probably be their last chance to visit St Mary's. Still think they'll go down.

The "Big" News - free "All Star" match on Sunday: K.O 3pm
Window Cleaner replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
Don't think that's his point although you're right of course. What seems to be the crux of the matter is that this game on Sunday will in some way interfere with or debase the celebrations on Saturday. Can't really understand the mentality that you need to get so smashed on Saturday that it stops you going to the game on Sunday but there you go. -

Might be but I doubt that the team will be wearing it, well not with names on anyway. Probably Saints in the Sash and the All Stars in Black . -

It's a first promotion for quite a lot of the players actually. Couldn't say exactly how many but certainly a majority of the group. -
So then Sussex chose to bat and have made a reasonable start at 52 without loss. Cork still bowling no-balls like they're going out of fashion and De Wet has been hit for 12 from 10 balls so far.

I thought that it was something that the players wanted to do rather than the club insisting on it. -

perhaps the club wants to give some of the players who'll be leaving this summer a chance to get a run-out.Might not be too much of an opportunity for that on Saturday with just 3 subs and an obligation to take the match seriously because Walsall are in a potential relegation scenario. -
Sussex today, really important game as they haven't had much of a start either. If we could win this one we might be able to move on up.
-
Lets face it they knew this was coming and yet they couldn't build up the 10 point buffer they probably need to go up automatically despite a deduction. Perhaps the stress of trying to get there was too much for them, hard to explain why they got turned over 4-1 by Sc*nthorpe otherwise.
-
Strange how the same old names keep cropping up season after season, window after window. Do we actually ever sign any of them........not really. I'd wager that we don't sign any of Stock,Danns,Howard,Beattie,Elliot or for that manner any other ex-Saint or player with Southampton connections. they might all very well want to come back and play for us...who wouldn't, but whether we want any of them is something else. We'll sign players that few of us have even thought about.

Walsall have changed the ticketing arrangements. they say that they are getting a batch of 1200 today but the game is now all ticket and that their fans have to buy in advance and have just until Friday midday to do so.Max 6 tickets per sale.It could well be that there will be a few left over but whether they could be sold to Saints fans afterwards I couldn't say.

What's your very first memory of a Saints game?
Window Cleaner replied to sussexsaint's topic in The Saints
I must be one of the few who have actually seen Saints play Accrington Stanley, it was my first game in the 59/60 promotion season, must have been about 5 at the time. Under the West Stand, down at the front stood on a little wooden stool. A Draw I think. -
Especially as docking them 9 would just look like a convenience solution because it's such an odd number. The standard penalty is 10 points, 15 for repeat offenders. Docking them 10 would leave it down to Saturday's matches with Cardiff needing a win to be automatically promoted.

South Today feature on Promotion... what was the music?
Window Cleaner replied to SaintNeil90's topic in The Saints
Somewhere in the Lot I presume. -
they have a lot of out of contract players, perhaps we've been talking to some of them, as is our right from last January onwards I believe.
-
Mancienne is way over age, he's already 23. There is no way that he could be eligible for the final tournament, so this looks like just a squad to play the build up games and get a look at players on the periphery of the full England group.Hammill is the same.
-
Huddersfield gave them their Guard of Honour,we refused, if he's being petty because of that well then he is totally deluded.

SSN at 5 to see Stuart Pearce at SMS for U21 squad
Window Cleaner replied to saintjay77's topic in The Saints
So qualifiying started before the 2009 finals in Sweden?? Seems strange. -
nope he was dropped, but there's a world U20s tournament somewhere this summer, don't know if England are qualified though, I guess not
-
the rules concern the starting point of the competition. I guess that in this case the qualifying rounds must have started in September 2009 so all players who were under 21 at that time are still eligible for the Euro 2011 U 21 final tournament, trouble is Lallana wasn't U21 then.I could be wrong on the start point though, but as it's a tournament that takes place every 2 years if I remember rightly I can't see that the qualifying rounds would have started before the 2009 finals. To me Lallana is overage but perhaps there's some specific rule for that, there is in the Olympics...2 overage players per team.
