Right and also an Euro runners up medal, didn't put a foot on the pitch in either game though. Might have had a better time at Utd if Van Gaal had been kept on, Mourinho had no time for him from the start, then again that's Mourinho for you ain't it.
-
Don't see how that would lead to Afridi being dropped really, perhaps it's just not a suitable wicket today.
-
Afridi bowled pretty well on Tuesday didn't he? Don't think he got to bat anyway, might have been better if he did.
-
Some might even say that that last season was detrimental to him. Perhaps he didn't greatly benefit from a season with Koeman and would have been far, far better if he'd gone to Tottenham with Pochettino as he wished at the time.

Always the Schneiderlin situation is quoted. Morgan is a pretty reasonable bloke who'd been with the club a while. There is no comparison, here we're dealing with an ambitious dutch knob who'll do (seemingly) whatever it takes to get what he wants. In the words of the old Michael Miles game show....take the money.. He's not played a competitve game these last 6 months or so and his value is still sky high, in his eyes a few more months won't make any great difference.

By the by, whatever happened to that prime minister's son from Estonia ? Is he still here, has he made any progress or was that just a diplomatic signing to sell shirts in Estonia? -
Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day

Nah he's a good player alright but he's still a bit inconsistent. On his day he's really top class, on his off days he adds little. Then again I don't think Koeman handled him very well at the start. Perhaps Barkley's spot on the side was already earmarked for a Koeman dutch binky, like Claessen perhaps. I'd think Barkley was by far the better player of the 2. -
11th-13th and a lot of disappointed supporters.

Enlighten me then, who is going to give us 70 million for VvD in your estimation? He's driven us into a corner, he doesn't seem to be any nearer backing down and nobody seems to be interested in buying him for the sums quoted. He's a 60 million £ max player, even if he agrees to play again after the window closes again he'll be starting all his nonsense again in January because he simply wants to leave.

I am not surprised that confidence is low, we're over 15 months down the line and absolutely squat seems to have been done. The Leave campaign talked a good exit but they seem incapable of actually putting anything into place. Personally I'd have another referendum on the subject and this time round make sure that every Expat who still holds British Nationality gets to vote if they so wish. Something needs to be done sharpish before the situation becomes unmanageable, if it isn't already.

Augsburg's number 30 looks like a bang average, brazillian journeyman from his profile page on Transfermarkt. Probably just had a good game because we were so average, like we had a good game on Saturday (well second half anyway) because StE are stony broke and pisces poor.
-
Yep we're going to give him 3 written warnings and then sack him, that way he walks into Anfield tomorrow, gets what he wants and we get fark all, way to go. Normal disciplinary proceedures do not apply to footballers because they're worth a lot of money and you can't just sack them, well you can but at your loss.

Oh I think Spurs are quite keen on signing Barkley but aren't so keen on the current price or his salary demands. Why I'd not even be surprised if they start putting rumours about to try to gee up the situation a bit. Let's face it Barkley wouldn't want to go to Saints, Leicester or West Ham, for that sort of status and salary he can stay at Everton. -

Oh it'll happen alright and eveybody will know that if you have enough money and clout the FFP rules are worth squat because you can always get round them by being even slightly devious, big commercial contract with one of your friends and sort it out with him in the Caiman Islands afterwards. -
Good bowling from Kent then ? Hadn't been up until then though, well didn't look like it when Vince and Bailey were after it anyway.
-
Those are all attacking players, Clasie is a DM, he needs the physique to tackle without getting a confetti shower of cards and the height to make an occasional headed clearance or two. An AM can be 2ft high for all I care but a veritable DM needs a bit of stature.

Barca might not need a replacement still, the Spanish League have refused PSG/Qatar's doubtful money this morning.. -

So we're signing Ross Barkley ? Arf, arf, arf. -
Not really, what you have to face is that we have vastly overspent on all the academy and training centre lark and the money that it sucks in all the time can't be spent on the team as well. Unless of course you're producing saleable players and I see nothing in the current crop that will fetch big bucks otherwise we'd be selling them as per usual..
-
I'd actuially like to see Clasie playing elsewhere as well, at some other club where being a midget isn't detrimental to the side.
-
If he was really that good Bayern wouldn't have sold him to us for 11 million or whatever it was. You get what you pay for.
-
Beginning to dawn on you is it, that a manager can only do so much with what he has available.
-
Still haven't figured out exactly how we could lose on Tuesday, couldn't listen, family funeral trip, looked in on my mobile, needed 48 off 41 balls with 8 wickets in hand, had been scoring at nigh on 10 an over and then when I looked later we lost by 5 runs.
-
Indeed and despite the Abbott and Wood horror show again. Must be tough being a fast-medium bowler in T20 it seems. Think we'd have got their total quite easily anyway, good start, Rossouw was still going well and Dawson adds a bit of solidity at 5.
-
Oye, Oye, we're bowling quite well it would seem. Having Dawson back has allowed us not to bowl Abbott in the power play. Well not much anyway. Don't know if it's 5 or 6 overs today.
