  1. Zouhair Feddal signs on at Betis Seville. Wasn't he mentioned here somewhere or other?
  2. Not showing up in L'Equipe or anything, not yet anyway. They'd be all over it if it was official or at least a strong possibility.
  3. What's wrong with those that we already have then ? People need to look at the squad that we have, there's hardly any space for manoeuvre. If we can't sell, we won't buy.
  4. But it won't happen now will it. We aren't selling top players this summer remember. Unless of course the projected takeover has fallen on it's face and we need cash for something or other.
  5. He's been here what 3 weeks and has no experience of English football, well apart from playing UK teams in Europe I suppose and then not a lot. Needs time although he does have Black and Watson to help him. I'd bet some of his needs come from his old team as per usual.
  6. But we were relatively better in the 80s than we are now. But in those days money was far less important than charisma. Oh and you forgot David Armstrong, one of the most underated players that we've ever had.
  7. Which would be the case if we put him on the transfer list. Perhaps they're just screwing with us eh, no intention of bidding a reasonable sum for the player in any case.
  8. So you'd abandon 20 million quid or so just for the sake of spiting a club that you don't care for. Fortunately our board won't see it that way. The player won't be with us in any case so might as well get every last bent cent for him.
  9. We can't keep our best bargains because we don't have enough success to make them want to stay, therein lies the rub. For more success we need more quality players, do you think Steve Davis and JWP would get anywhere near the City or Chelsea first team?
  10. Our owner has about 300 million all up by most recent accounts, that bloke has about 4 billion. How is that not substantially more then ? Or are you still clinging on to the old 3.6 billion chestnut ? here you go; Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has seen his fortune grow to more than $4.7billion (£3.66bn), according to the latest figures. The influential international business magazine Forbes has just released details of the 50 richest people in Vichai's homeland of Thailand. Those figures show that his King Power business empire has grown by $1.45bn in the past 12 months from $3.25bn in 2016. The growth is put down to Thailand's tourism boom that. Show me the same for KL.
  11. Too many riders eliminated or diminished by crashes due to overexcitement in the bunch and crappy downhillers where leading riders were trying to steal a couple of seconds. Not enough summit finishes. Unequal judging, not enough time trialling. Tour was made for Bardet but he didn't have the level needed to attack 10-15 km out on the big final climbs. Valverde's elimination after 5 minutes or so weighed heavily on the tour, not much over 2000 metres so he would have attacked pretty often. Unequal teams didn't help either, Contador wasn't really on song but his team were of no real help to him either. Idem Quintana.
  12. Not to mention 5 Champions League wins (or equivalent when it was called something else) and a few Europa League (idem) wins and a final in 2016. Anyone comparing us with them is just well, deluded.
  13. Perhaps McCarthy is up for sale or something.
  14. Who cares really, they need to be ready for the glorious 12th and not much else. They're probably already in good condition having played in a major international tournament not so long back.
  15. Well they only want 10 million euros by all accounts but the player is having his say. Throw in a new handbag for his mum and he's ours.
  16. Both of whom sacked their manager midway through the following season and then got a bit better..
  17. Kanté from Caen would have been doable but I think we bought Clasie instead.
  18. Leicester's owner has far more money than ours. He also runs a highly successful company which has no doubt proposed vast sums for stadium naming rights and shirt sponsorship. This is how you do it. It's nothing to do with FFP. Our problem is that our owner is a relative pauper compared to about half of the other PL clubs and all of the clubs above us. Her aunts, uncles and cousins have a lot of money, they could shirt sponsor us but seem to have no inkling to do so.
  19. then again they have room for fairly accessible improvement don't they.
  20. Going to be a messy affair that. He doesn't want to go to wherever Caen have agreed a price, his agent/family have agreed something with St Etienne and Leipzig are said to be involved somewhere along the line.
  21. Not yet returned after prolonged international duty, Confederations Cup.
  22. Not such a bad idea is it.. but managers seem to like to have their say.
  23. Reed was already saying that VvD was going nowhere back in January, at that time we had a valid CB pairing and thus didn't need Sakho, something which might have changed with the sale of Fonte. But Sakho is basically a left sided CB anyway, he's nowhere near as good on the other side from what I've seen.
  24. Debatable really. VvD could have just told them that he didn't want to move anyway. I doubt that we could in fact sue Liverpool without suing VvD and his representatives as well. When you start telling players that they have no right to talk to XXX about anything at all then you infringe on their personal liberty. You own their registration, you do not own the person attached to it. And then the defence lawyers will start digging around in the past trying to find some player, somewhere who we might have "tapped up". Could even be a youth teamer from long past. Whole thing would get mighty messy and drag on for years.
  25. A very good point.
