  1. Simples, keep the ball on the ground so that they can't win it 50% of the time and hoof it up into our half to give themselves a breather. As Man U and Chelsea show us every week if you keep at sides all the time they will eventually crack.Once you give them a sniff of the ball by punting it up into the air they get a bit of a breather. We have to stop punting it up to Lambert because good as he is in the air he only wins it just over half of the time.I just watched a bit of the second half against Orient (bit behind in my watching-far too nice outside to stay in). They hoof, Fonte gets the ball, passes it out left to Seaborne who hoofs it up into the far left corner for Lambert to head down, it's like groundhog day, time after time after time, then we switch it on the ground out to the right, Puncheon puts in a good deep cross, headed back across goal for Lallana to score.
  2. I would agree with this, I just can't see why everybody raves about Fonté as being "cultured". He's more than adequate in defence but his elbowing and shirt pulling will eventually cost us a few badly placed free kicks and penalties. His "distribution" is zero, especially most of his headwork, he will just loop it up into the air instead of trying to nod it down to feet. Watch any Full 90 on the old Saintsplayer, you get a better idea of what I'm talking about.
  3. Victoria Beckham is probably a better footballer than Wotton
  4. Would result in a huge loss for the financial year as well. £125 for the season would relate to just over £5 a game...ain't going to happen. £300 is about bare minimum I suppose.
  5. Although I'm not sure that throwing money around without limit is NC's scene. There is certainly a budget for everything not to be exceeded under normal circumstances. Just because Markus seemingly has loads of money he's not likely to throw it all at SFC.
  6. Looks like following Hampshire this season could be on a par with following Saints last season (2008/9 I mean).
  7. Morgan has a 4 year contract so why should we offer him a new one, although at the time that he signed I think it was rumoured as 5 years. 4 years with an option perhaps then.He dismissed Arsenal interest as window shopping(in a roundabout way) in a French newspaper recently. Although he did seem to say that as he was 2 years into his contract he could stay or leave (didn't get any other explanation).
  8. One less CCC team would be relegated or at best the losing play off finalist from Lge 1would go up.There is no miracle for us this season, way Huddersfield are now playing (since we kicked their arse) even 2 more wins would have been to no avail.
  9. if that bloke mentions the play off dream once more I'm going to go over there and nut him Goal Rickie
  10. should have said so then, can't have it all ways.
  11. the team are knackered and knew full well they were playing for just the result
  12. of course but AP wanted it that way.
  13. which is why getting points on the board as soon as possible is always better than having games in hand
  14. AP needs to sort Seaborne out in the close season. Many said he was an iffy signing, I can see why now.
  15. Dave griping about Barnard being left out
  16. Rickie misses an easy one.
  17. must have heard the Huddersfield score. Will that idiot commentator just stop talking about play-off hopes....it's over, i just don't want to hear it any more this season and hopefuly not next either.
  18. Some pretty quick runs there then. Hope we can bowl a bit this time because we don't need another defeat. Still at 222 on with 3 wickets left we might well make a game of it.
  19. Unfortunately collecting a few red cards seems to be the stamp of some of the better players in the world of football. Getting red cards doesn't make you a good player but few of the very best escape them entirely.Beckham,Zidane,Maradonna,Viera,Rooney,Gerrard,Cantona..they've all had their fair share in the past.
  20. What do you expect, they're still in administration and yet another "local businessmen's" rescue package has just gone down the crapper.Aren't they on a restricted number of full time players or something like that because they're in admin? Being inAdmin at the start of the season should bring about an automatic 1 league drop, regardless of points on the board.
  21. But just on goal difference;) Norwich are better 71 from 33 and Millwall are exactly the same 68/33 but we have about +5 on GD both started pretty badly as well but they didn't have the -10 points. However they will both finish more than 10 points above us as well.
  22. It's not about positive or negative it just looks like something that we would have wheeled out under the Lowe regime. The more that they keep harping on about this is just going to increase the frustration felt when Huddersfield crush Stockport tomorrow afty.So I think they really need to tone this down a bit because this is the 4th or 5th don't give up because the players haven't article since Tuesday, they'll have Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush belting it out in the background before long.
  23. If you can believe that of course. I really think that AP has been at fault over Gillett this season. Plenty of occasions to play him and see what he could offer with no loss of face, most would play him every time instead of Wotton but no he's just cast aside into the footballing garbage bin.Same with Gobern, not even a sniff when we had plenty of opportunity to give him a try .
  24. There's a new piece on the OS urging fans to turn up and be the 12th man because we can "still make the play-offs". Also included in this is some sort of suggestion that if you do you'll be a priority case for future plum games (like the play-offs). In my opinion (once again) it just smacks of desperation and OTTness.
  25. Anyway the STs are always counted and there's at least 12K of them.Plus the free under 8s.Anything less than 21K would be a severe disappointment I would think.
