Another great(!) article in the Bleacher Report http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2281147-southamptons-graziano-pelle-says-hes-better-looking-than-cristiano-ronaldo?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=world-football My wife and daughter agree I think!

I was just thinking the same thing. But I didn't realise how poor he was considered in France, but it says a lot for Poch as he was a brilliant signing for us (imo), and the profit we made on him has certainly helped us to improve our squad.

 That one cheered me up this morning!!!

When will the media stop writing 'despite losing......in the summer'
dellboypete replied to Saintru's topic in The Saints
At least most of the journo's have admitted how wrong they were, and most (of the most) have praised saints and Koeman for our current position etc -
Saints vs Sheffield Utd (A) Capital One Quarter Final
dellboypete replied to Bearsy's topic in The Saints
I don't normally read through other forums, but a lot of the comments on there were really good and funny, such as this ****-take on the press Looking forward to this one - I really like sheffield - great real ale city - and there is an excellent Industrial museum together with a great brewery at Kelham Island - last time I was there was when we played wednesday in the championship and league 1 (them were t'days!!) -
Have to admit that I haven't been keeping too close an eye on Hull, so not sure whether this is a tongue in cheek or a genuine analysis?? To be fair, Hull have looked very good so far this season (on match of the day anyway!!), having made some of the best signings in the premier (saints excluded of course)

and thanks for that too!

thanks for that

Ha ha! made me chuckle - the most interesting part of the article is the last bit with all the pitch dimensions in the prem: So ten pitches are identical in size - I was quite surprised. Just out of interest what were the dimensions of The Dell pitch?

I got a thoughtful email reminder from the ticket office today, telling me that as I'd gone to more than three away games I could get priority until wednesday to purchase an Arsenal ticket So I did

What happens to England's lost football grounds?
dellboypete replied to Coxford_lou's topic in The Saints
it is a great book - and I often dig it out to reminisce! Here is one of half a dozen good websites http://www.footballgroundguide.com/old-grounds-and-stands/ The bbc story was interesting - but didn't have much depth for me. For example, the old Huddersfield ground, Leeds Road, which is right next door to the new ground, is now a B & Q, and the centre spot can be found in the store - which we did when Saints went there in our League 1 days. On saints away days I often go and look at these old grounds, and if they can be combined with local microbreweries, so much the better! -
GUARDIAN: Sadio Mané leading the golden generation of Senegal
dellboypete replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Usual bs - little saints too small for top players. Unfortunately there are only a handful of clubs who consistently pay high transfer fees and salaries, and as Cabaye is finding out at PSG, a move to a "big" glitzy club may make you a fortune but it doesn't guarantee that you play every week. Similarly half the Man City squad whose salries must dwarf avery saints player, only get occassional run outs. -
one of my colleagues watched the whole game and said it was one the best games he has seen for a long time - didn't comment on morgan though - very diplomatic

On train home. Great 2nd half! Biggest plus for me was Gaston's performance. He looked lean, mean and hungry. Some great moves off the ball and some great touches and passes Also Pelle looks like he is getting used to premier life as well. And Tadic. - what more can I say especially with Morgan in the middle
-
Agree with this - he got a great reception from saints fans before, during and after the game - and he did come over to applaud us at the end. My view is that he is a legend for us, but he has gone - we gave him a fond farewell yesterday - so lets get over it - it's getting a bit boring

Might not have had a lot to do but my own views on him are very positive 1. he is a very big guy - very commanding in the box 2. seemed to be happy clearing/passing with both feet (not at the same time!) 3. didn't seem to panic under pressure from dodgy back passes from yosh!!! 4. also thought his handling was pretty good too (although in the first half couldn't see much of the other end from row 11) 5. my daughter thought his bright yellow outfit was pretty good too
