Undersoil heating being installed at St Mary's
dellboypete replied to itchen_dan's topic in The Saints
When St Mary's was being built there was a website that had all the plans and updates. Among that lot was a big bit on the pitch construction and the science behind it, which also included details of the under soil heating sysyem that was installed, but as mentioned above, was not connected up. I copied most of the plans. diagrams etc, but these are backed up on an old hard drive somewhere. I'm sure someone on here must have them somewhere. -
Thanks to the OP and CC for posting this. I read it on the train this morning, and as with any newspaper article you have to do your mental filtering. However, I thought it was a half decent and partially well thought out article (that could easily have been condensed into a couple of para's). For me the most telling bit was the last two paragraphs........... 1. KL, although possibly committed doesn't seem to want to put too much of her own readies into the club - which is fairly sensible 2. The last paragraph where I think the journo is spot on. Cortese must have been a tough negotiator, and clearly, now he is out of the way the big clubs think that they can come and cherry pick (as mentioned in the article)

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-0 Everton
dellboypete replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Deulofeu looked OK'ish when he had the ball - which was so infrequent because of Clyne (see above) - as a result I don't think I've seen many players look so disinterested in a game than him (Anelka for wba to mind). Having said that, several of the everton players were definitely not up for a tough game and our midfield really bossed them about. Wanyama is a tough guy and Naismith, who is usually the tough b*stard for everton, just couldn't get a look in. -
Ha ha - he's clearly one of his favourites - and the bloke in the background doesn't look too happy! Saw a link on that page that could cause panic http://www.itv.com/worldcup/thieves-steal-300000-panini-world-cup-stickers-in-rio

That was a bit harsh - he did mention Nat Clyne as MoM -
On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy are you with saints at the moment?

For me it's got to be at least a 9. I still judge everything relative to where we were just three years ago - just about to get promoted from League 1. It's been a a hellova journey, and when we got promoted two years ago I would have been ecstatic if I had thought we would be in the top half in our second year in the prem. Last season we did well to consolidate our prem position, but this season has seen (in my opinion) incredible progress on and off the pitch at St Mary's. We might have tailed off over the last couple of months but overall it's been a great season -

edited - duplicate post - sorry about that

I find this bit strange as the plaen would have had to cross the Malaysian Peninsular to get the Malacca Straights - I'm sure that the Malaysian Military would have been aware of it re-entering their airspace at the very least

Or the lib/dems to get so unpopular more like. Bunch of tossers imho.

As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
dellboypete replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Having watched them last night I suspect most of the prem teams have a better midfield, and defence -
For anyone interested in sports photography, especially footy, here is an opportunity to get some real life action at the Amex http://www.parkcameras.com/26291/Park-Shooting-Football-with-Brighton-and-Hove-Albion.html?utm_source=Park%20Cameras%20Newsletter&utm_medium=Email&utm_content=football&utm_campaign=19th%20February%202014%20Newsletter&utm_nooveride=1 Pretty good if you are a BHA fan

Most Unusual Place You've Been on Saints Web?
dellboypete replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Lounge
I could believe the rest but this one is really stretching the imagination -
I watched the whole of the hull game last night on delayed transmission. Have to say they looked pretty quick going forward, not that Sunderland did much to stop them. The young guy on loan from arsenal looked useful and could prove a handful, although to be fair I,m on holiday and had had quite a few cocktails by then so my judgement may have been impaired.

Good spot and very relevant for many fans from every club. Hopefully this will be seen by all other clubs as well

If she did she would have felt almost at home - in the Wear valley behind (actually the main entrance) of the Stadium of Light, is a massive Liebherr crane factory - with Liebherr in extra large letters on the side. You can't miss it from the main entrance. Actually looked like cranes for offshore installations (rigs, platforms etc) but could wrong Didn't see many saints fans out that side, but every ground we go to we always make an effort to walk right around the outside and take fotos etc. The original winding wheel from the Monkwearmouth Colliery is there as well as some bit of modern sculpture on the valley side. There wasd also a plaque commemorating the planting of an oak by prof David Bellamy when the ground was built - but looks like the tree died a long time ago. Impressive ground from the outside though imo
