bought a couple on line this morning and it said it was a 15 pointer!

went online to buy some Barnsley tickets this morning and was put in a queue for five minutes. This took me by surprise as it said that the booking system was busy - presumably for Sunderland tickets?

Loved this realistic and honest statement It's true -what a magic time to be a Saints fan

Thanks for all the fotos and reports. Been in Houston all week and currently at the airport waiting for a seriously delayed flight home. Been some unbelievable storms and rainfall here this evening that caused chaos. Rickie has really cheered me up. What an evening. And thanks gin fellow saints fans for all the up to date info

Fantastic news and really well deserved - and I had full hospitality in one of the best suites at wembley lined up - sadly I have to go to hot n sweaty houston on business instead

I'll assume (or hope) they don't have an an Italian captain?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/23586290 an "interesting" bit about, fat and pipes and sewers - surely they got the location wrong?

Will this current squad propel us into Europe?
dellboypete replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Saints
mid-table obscurity if we are lucky. But I could be wrong - as the sun has come out this morning so I'm suddenly very optimistic and think we'll push for top half obscurity. -
Have you ever taken a bird or your Missus or both to watch Saints?

Met my wife in the sixth form at school and some of our first dates were at the Dell in 1970 (how romantic I hear you say! - well it was!) We went to university together and have lived abroad several times. We've been married for 37 years, got three grown up children and have season tickets and we still go to quite a few away games. -
Just saw this on the Bleacher Report (an interesting (for me) website that I picked up on here some time ago) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1722843-ranking-premier-league-strikers-on-their-transfer-fee-to-goal-ratio/page/18 which ranks Rickie Lambert as the best value for money striker in the prem based on Transfer Fee-to-Goal Ratio

sounds good value for money - 21yrs old, played for Holland at both Under-19 and Under-21 levels - should have gone for him instead??

Agree with this. Definitely not a fair representation of the views of your average saints fan, but I come on here everyday as its a one of the best ways of getting the latest news, rumours and gossip etc. I have found this forum and it's predecessor a really useful way of keeping in touch especially when we were living abroad. I don't agree with a lot of what many posters have to say but then again I don't have to read them. Always amazes me that there are such diametric opposite views on many topics that raise peoples hackles so much - great fun! And where would I have been with the PTS for the last few years?

Quite impressive crowds - especially when you take into account their years of ground sharing and the wonderful backdrop of the Withdean - enough to put any supporter off for life!. I'm yet to go to the Amex and it looks like I'll have to wait! Watched the Palace game on TV last week and the atmosphere sounded pretty good to be fair. We had a consultant from Brighton in the office last week and he confirmed what one of the above posters said about rejuvenating the club and also the whole area. However his biggest gripe was parking and access. He also thought that they were applying to expand even further. I didn't query this, but I thought I had read somewhere that it was now as big as it could be under the original public enquiry

from saints pov I'd prefer palace - much better atmosphere at selhurst - although both are easy to get to - especially for me! -
Pilotless Air Travel, would you trust your life to it?

Is this anything to do with the Air India thread below? -
Only once?

At Donington services. Bit early but picking up daughter from York on way. Bizarrely there is a coach load of Wigan fans here. They all look worse for wear but I'm wondering if they are lost!

This is about right for me too. My eldest sister (who is quite a few years older than me) joined the navy at 16 as a nurse and ended up at Gosport then Rowner. If saints were away I would often go over to stay for the weekend and go to FP and I can clearly remember that from the mid-60's there was real animosity against saints.

1970? League cup 5th round away to spurs Was still at school and went up from brock straight after school with a friend. It was already snowing heavily. By the time we got to WHL snow was a few inches deep. We were let in the ground but the game was called off before kick-off. It was white out conditions. A load of us then had a snow ball fight in Trafalgar Sq on the way back to Waterloo. The train we got back to Soton left around 9pm and turned out to be the last one due to snow, but pulling into Basingstoke one of the engines shorted and caught fire (causing panic on the train!!) and we eventually got into Soton Central around 2am. No mobile fones then and stuck in Soton, no way of getting back to Holbury and school in the morning - I walk out of the station and my dad was there - he had been waiting for hours. That's what parents are for! Never did get to the rearranged game either.

And that's just at the Barasti - just think what it will be like on the sea front at Roker on Sunday - bet you wish you were there Eric?
-
Watched the game last night and was not impressed with either of them. However there is no doubt that Sunday's game will be really physical, but I'm confident we'll be strong enough on that score. The only guy who would worry me is Johnson - he looks quick and the way he cut in from the right wing a couple of times and shot with his left was not unlike Bale on Saturday. Hope we sell out out our allocation - this is massive and I'll be there too

Step-by-step guide to survival before kick off on May 19th
dellboypete replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Excellent summary! Can you just add the key games on the final day for completeness? Ta! This season has been surreal in many ways and I'm sure the last couple of games are going to have even more twists and turns. -
Less than 5 mins from my office (during the week!) and can confirm its still there and had some rare beers on earlier this week. This was the CAMRA national pub of the year a couple of years ago.
-
Can't imagine this will sell out - a sunny (?) sunday afternoon in the north-east. Almost impossible to do in a day by train. But hey! I'll be there - picking up daughter who lives in York on the way!
-
Good luck - although I'm pretty neutral on this one (do Newport even play in Newport anymore - or was that a temporary thing? - can't be bothered to do a search.) Went to the old Somerton Park to see Saints in a cup replay - I was still at school so must have been in the late 60's - probably the most ramshackle league ground I've ever been too!
