I fluctuate every day. I'm normally very positive in life, but I can't bring myself to fully accept that Saints won't blow it! Logic says we are going up. The bookmakers say we are going up. Still can't say it though.....

Must of been her who nicked my watch and wedding ring when I was there years ago for a game of golf. Got me a free weekends accommodation though!

Celtic's bid to join the football league
AussieDog replied to farawaysaint's topic in General Sports
Maybe they could relocate Portsmouth to Glasgow and call themselves Glasgow Portsmouth and start next season in League 1. Then after 2 or 3 years, just drop the Portsmouth part of their name. Could never happen though....could it??? -
Is this normal behaviour by SFC for people buying hospitality packages?

Old enough for you to w*nk over without it being a criminal offence and young enough for me to beat you to death with the bloody stump of your arm after I have ripped it off if I catch you within 5 metres of them -

Exactly 60 minutes after I posted it. I'm surprised it took someone that long to spot my deliberate mistake! I always have problems with that damn word! -

To those of you who have queried why I haven't responded before now, it's because I am a tightar5e (I was going to say cheapskate but in the current environment that is about as big an insult as you can make to a Saints supporter) and haven't paid my fiver and had already made 3 posts in 24 hours. The only reason I have even bought hospitality tickets is because I wanted to guarantee tickets for the Doncaster, Portsmouth and Reading games before I forked out on air fares from Australia, and when booking 6 months in advance Corporate Hospitality is the only option available. The Bronze package provides us with a private bar area before and after the game. By private, I am guessing they mean a few hundred rather than a few thousand people queuing for drinks. Judging by comments made by others, the queues take just as long. You don't even get a free programme for the privelege. You certainly don't get any dining arrangements. If they had a requirement for providing guest names in advance, they should have made that clear at time of purchase. Their request was made 10 days before the game. I would be more than happy to provide names upon arrival at the stadium, to satisfy any H&S requirements. I don't believe H&S is their sole reasoning for the request. If it was then you would have thought they would have sent me a list of H&S requirements with their initial email. Thinking about it, I should have requested that in my email back to them. In the case of the Doncaster games I knew who would be going, as I will be taking my 2 kids to their first ever game. Other plans mean that they may or may not be going to the Portsmouth and Reading games, although I had to purchase 4 tickets for all 3 games in order for me to get the Pompey tickets. I was going to offer those spare tickets on this forum, but obviously, having to provide names so far in advance means I couldn't possibly do that now. Besides, after reading all your "helpful" comments, you can all go and kiss my a55 now Oh...and yes I do expect a professional email from corporate Hospitality and yes I can be a grumpy bu99er when I encounter poor customer service and without proper and genuine explanation. I can also be a sarcastic b&st&rd when I get stupid replies to a genuine question, although some of the responses on here have at least been mildly amusing. It is also interesting to see how people view me and categorise me on here. However, I also enjoy winding people up and it is the second biggest reason as to why I post on this forum, because there are so many people on here who are so easy to stir up. At least I have the class to do it without resorting to name calling or personal abuse -
Received an email from SFC hospitality today which immediately put my back up. I probably shouldn't have risen to the bait but it seemed a bit suspect and "Big Brother" like to me. Is this normal ( Thank you for constant support for Southampton Football Club You have book hospitality for the Saints Vs Doncaster Rovers game on Saturday 24th March 2012. For Health and Safety reasons please could you supply me with you guest list please. Once again thank you for your custom and we will look forward to seeing you on Saturday 24th March 2012 If you have any other enquires please don’t hesitate to contact Corporate Sales on 02380727765 Many Thanks ************ Corporate Sales Southampton Football Club DDI: 02380727765 Glenn ****** ✆ 21:33 (29 minutes ago) to Hospitality01 Please clarify what health and safety reasons are requiring guest names at this time? We request from the guest to send there names of there guests in so we know how many people will be in the building at the time, and if there is any reason for a evacuation we know the guests names so we can make sure everyone is present. Are you saying that hospitality guests are more important than the other 20,000+ supporters in the rest of the ground? In this instance I can confirm that the 4 people attending (assuming our flights from Australia don't get delayed) are :- Glenn ****** Michelle ****** Jaimee ****** Taylah ****** However, I reserve the right to change these names at any time prior to our entrance to St Mary's Stadium. We're on the march with Nigels army, we're all going to Dellhurst Park" scans much better. Don't let the fact that Dell is long gone spoil it
-
Surely it's the day for colours. Save the fancy dress for the last home or away game. I'm gutted to find out I can't wear my Saints shirt in a hospitality seat!
-
actually I think it's 2:30am - British Summertime kicks in on the 23rd March I think (so may also affect the Blackpool game if that's shown over here too)
-
It's just a bit of fun and I'm sure we have all been dreaming about this sort of scenario for the past 8 years. One day I think we're going to win the league and the next I think we're destined for the playoffs. Enjoy the ride!

In my dreams... Portsmouth....in my hopes Reading (my last game before coming back to Aus)...but in my heart it's going to be a 1-1 draw at Peterboro with No 7 scoring our goal. Same as in our previous 2 promotions to the Premier League. Sir Rickie can join the elite group of Tony Funnell and Tery Paine in scoring the goal that seals are return to the top league PS...If anyone can get me 2 tickets to the Peterboro game, it's actually 2 days before I fly back and I'd happily re-arrange my schedule to fit the game in

there was a coach from Bishops Waltham? I never knew that - I used to catch the bus in and back every game from Waltham Chase in the early 70's. Not too bad though, as I was able to get a Plesteds (name may be wrong - it was a long time ago!) pie before hopping on the bus to come home I remember walking back from Bishops Waltham Square one Boxing Day and walking in the middle of the road as it had been snowing and there was bu99er all traffic around when this Range rover beeped it's horn to get out of the way - it was Mick Channon on his way home after the game. Bu99er didn't stop to give me a lift though! Strange what sticks in the memory as I have absolutely no idea what the game was.

52 Lived near Brisbane, Australia since 2003. Originally from Waltham Chase in that no-mans land between Southampton and the blue few. First ever game was in the mid to late 60's and actually at the wrong ground as my uncle was one of the blue few. I forgave him as second game was at the Dell under floodlights. Can't remember who either team played. Have only ever been to FP once since and that was when Steve Moran scored the winner in the 89th minute. I think my first ever away game was the 76 FA Cup semi final. Between the late 70 and mid 80's went to virtually every game home and away (including KK's first game in a Saints shirt with the good old travel club. 24 hour coach trip there, 90 minute bore draw and 24 hours back without a pub stop to be seen). That period was probably my favourite time as a Saints fan and for most away games used to travel with Clive Foley's mob when he was still a spotty teenager. Sometimes they used to take more coaches than the travel club! That sort of stopped when I first got married and I had to be content with mainly home games. Since I've been in Australia I've managed to get back in 2006, 2010 and 2012 (fingers crossed) to see some games, but those flights are a killer!

2 things.... Firstly if Reading win 11 and only draw against us then there would have to be a 14 goal swing in goal difference as long as we match their results Secondly, Reading have to play West Ham, so unless Reading win all of their other games with a 14 goal swing AND West Ham win 12 out of 13, then it is still in our hands Bottom line is if we win every game we are promoted. However, being realistic, that is not going to happen and there's still the possibility that one of the other teams will burst into a run like we did last season so I think it would be foolish to discount everyone else just yet!
-
If you'd looked at this run of 4 games against Watford, Leeds, Ipswich, and Barnsley then personally I would have thought 8 points was acceptable, 9 would have been pleasing, 10 guaranteed promotion form, (11 impossible...lol) and 12 Championship form. At the moment we have 7...so it's either going to be 7 (disappointing), 8, or 10. Odds are still in our favour
-
Saints win please. Don't care about anybody else. Our fate is in our hands.
-
Have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a letdown. We'll stay unbeaten....but 2 draws and 4 points dropped.
-
Isn't it funny - I didn't think that overall we played bad at all. I thought Puncheon Cork and Guly weren't up to scratch (although Cork played his part in the goal), but everyone else gave 100% against a Leeds team who were really up for the game. It wasn't pretty but it was effective. I was on the edge of my seat for virtually the whole game and was convinced we were going to concede any second and when the final whistle went I felt drained. Really reminded me of what I miss now I live in Australia, and whetted my appetite for the trip over in a couple of weeks At this rate the Reading game is going to be MASSIVE! Can't believe I was lucky enough to already have got my tickets as they are going to be rarer than rocking horse poo!

I watched 2 seconds and turned it off. Pathetic. -
If they could organise for it to be around half time it would save me having to queue for the toilet

Saw this on wikipedia...might narrow the search down a bit In 2011 David signed for Wessex League club Lymington Town and on the 26th November 2011 scored to become the league's oldest ever goalscorer at the age of 51

Doing the bronze package for Doncaster Pompey and Reading. Will be our 2 girls first ever game when we play Doncaster (they are my stepkids and this will be the first time they have ever left Australia). Depending on how they enjoy the 1st game I might take a couple of mates to the Pompey game instead if I don't think I have converted them into true Saints fans...lol...would much rather true fans got to see that game. Any idea what the hours are for the package? I'm tempted to take them into a proper pub (they are 19 and 16 and that will be another first for them lol) before the game and then to just enjoy the hospitality afterwards.
-
I remember that Orient game....not particularly well, but I do remember outnumbering the Orient fans by about 3 to 1. I have a gut feeling the Peterboro game is going to be the clincher this time. It's 2 days before I head back to Aus and to be honest I had assumed it would be a sell-out and I had no chance of getting tickets. It would be a fantastic end to my trip if that was the case ....although saying that, I won't be too disappointed if we clinch promotion at home to Reading in the previous game

Her HIV is just one factor in the relationship. I would consider HIV the same way as any other life threatening condition, but obviously there is an added complication in the fact that it can be transmitted to you. If everything else is absolutely fantastic then I would definitely not be afraid to get involved in a full-blown relationship.
