This would be my midfield and im surprised that those 3 didnt start on Saturday. Having Downes in the squad would mean we have options, can always go 4231 and play both against teams that will probably attack us (top 6 teams) or attacking 433 when teams are more likely sit back playing for a draw or lucky breaks, meaning either Charles or Downes will drop to the bench.

Been saying this for a very long time, got to go back to the 4231 formation and get 2 real Dm's in there, Smallbone isnt a cdm he's a box-box, Acm type. Charles is a DM get him playing there and get someone else in playing alongside him. As it stands we have no protective shield for the defence, same as last season, until we get that sorted out, we wont get back to the premiership anytime soon.

Good result but still we lack the DCM that we lacked last year and with Lavia pretty much going we really need to get one in, the 3 midfielders that started today are not DCM, get a decent one in and that will help our defence and save a goal or 2.

4222 worked for the short time it was introduced over here but then it quickly got found out. Same went for Leipzig, worked wonders for them then teams started to suss it all out, it was Nagelsmann who then went against all that redbull were about and changed their system to a 3421, they started winning again, then all German clubs started to follow suit, after Nagelsmann left, Marsch tried going back to the 4222 and that basically got him sacked as they probably had the 2nd best squad but were a shambles, a bit like us really. They then went back to the 3421 formation and they started to click again. Teams should always play to the squads strengths, unfortunately we didnt, we probably should of setup with a 433/4231 a formation we were so used to under Poch and koeman and the press worked alot better under poch using that system than the press under Ralph imo.

Actually i can see the point in getting in someone who might influence a few players to stay. If the players know who the manager next season will be that might be a turning point to keep them here a little longer, you never know.

This is who i wanted, instead we got Jones. We dont need someone with premiership experience, we need someone who players can look up to and improve their game. Poch and Koeman had no prem experience, just what they have achieved as a player and was good enough for our players to give them a chance to help them improve and improve they did. If this guy took over instead of Jones, I'm pretty sure he would of got us playing a lot better and made better use of the WC break. SR needs to step up and do the right thing, not another "cheap" option.

id go with Bielsa, get him to work with what we probably will have next season when relegated, we have some good youngsters that he could work well with, them and i hope a few of our first teamers atm, he could work miracles. no new CDM so gave it a 5. New striker is a plus, the new winger seems meh looking at his stats, Luton guy was horrific, not sure it will be enough to get us out of relegation. It all seemed very rushed and no thought behind the signings. Tall striker seems we will be hoofing it upfield once again which still wont work. Our defence is pretty bad and we really miss Romeu so we needed that Romeu type player to help protect the defence, you can get all the attacking players you like but it wont mean nothing if we are leaking goals at the other end. I still dont think Jones is the right man to get this team going, keeps insisting on the 3 at the back and we've lost before he realises its not working then tries it again the following week, he's a loon.

Im sorry, it doesnt matter who we get in, the manager has no clue how to get the best out of our players, keeps playing the same old faces that has got us into this trouble and when the club thought he was a good appointment and thought the likes of Adams, AA, Moi and Djenepo would be good enough to keep us up with assists and goals at the start of the season, well all i can say is that they have well and truly screwed our club up and have no idea.

i take it Edozie is slightly injured for not starting, he's been our best player of late. F knows why Ely keeps starting, he's just to slow for this league, we desperately need a new midfielder to replace him.

Lyanco isnt a good CB and i agree with you there but we need someone in there to play that Romeru role to shield the defence and let our midfield attack with a bit more freedom, we have tried and tested all our midfielders which none can do that job at all well, so why not try a CB there, someone who can pass the ball and is comfortable on the ball going fwd, Lyanco does have those attributes, even if its just for a few games, its better than having jwp there again who looks awful there. Yes jwp isnt a wide player but Stu is a far better no.10 than Jwp and the latter can put in a decent cross or 2 into the box, again its all about getting the balance right, jwp has been awful in the middle this year so its either him or lavia alongside a dcm, i know who id rather have. I could of suggested that Aribo plays rightside but then everyone would go mad because mr wonderboy isnt in the team. Sometimes doing the unthinkable might work!

and elyounoussi isnt? holy crap what matches have you been watching? off the ball all he does is a lot of pointing and casually strolls to the player on the ball to close them down, on the ball is must be in the top 5 slowest wingers the premier league has seen, he is one of a few players that should never play for us again and one of the main reasons why it seems we are playing with a player less each game he starts.
