Not to wee Ross, he isn't. If you think Soares is short, you haven't seen Juanmi up close....
-
Hope wee Ross is working overtime right now with the black box.

When mentioned in the past, the Feyenoord contingent on here scoffed at the suggestion.

CONFIRMED - Oriol Romeu joins on 3-Year Deal

Agree, though Everton were also quite happy to sit back more. -
Haven't ITKers on said that we're after a LM - obviously that can mean many things, though it's worth noting that this lad has been deployed on the left quite a lot. And technically Koeman didn't say we're done after a CB. He said that we would see how the rest of the transfer window plays out, especially as things get very fluid -that should the right target at the right price arise, we'd have enough powder dry to respond accordingly. Les Reed has said the same thing in the past.

ESPN - Is this really a sensible arguement.. Who are they kidding?

Don't buy it. It's part of the reason; not all of it. At some point, the club makes a conscious decision whether it wants to trade-off short-term results against the long-term development of players. Les Reed has always said that this is what distinguishes us from others, even in the top flight. Not being a top club competing for honours or one threatened with relegation gives us that unique luxury. -

I don't like his overgelled haircut, like some s**t, outdated character from Coming to America or Red Dwarf. There I said "it". -

You really think he would say otherwise? -
You mean chelsea and city's kids...
-
Not saying its true -think its horses**t; but hypothetically we might have accepted a bid for him rather than an agent clamouring for a move.

What idea's that, jeffrey?
-
Is he 'in talks' or is he 'linked' with villa as per the other thread. Very different things.

His mobility and to some extent range of passing are nothing like Morgan's -and there'sno reason they should be. -

It's not that much different from how we set up with Schneiderlin and Wanyama. How did RK do things with Feyenoord? The question is whether the two DMs -and from what I've seen of Romeu, he's even more defensive than Wanyama- allows us to roll the dice a bit more with the third CM, whether we have to go with Davis and JWP. -

Don't forget the Cork money and the fact that money for a CB would have probably been budgeted from last season's transfer activity. -
Like him - though he hasn't had to make too many 'worldies' yet, did make an excellent save against vitesse when we were only 2 up and gets down well to shots. Exudes a calmness and confidence that I think translates to the back four. But as I say, still early days.

Of course, clean sheets are more valuable - they are less common than goals scored. That's like saying it's more lucrative to win the lottery than a coin toss (with the same stake). But that's true in only the most banal and dull sense. Try a more like-for-like comparison: is it more important to keep a clean sheet or avoid drawing blanks and not score in games (after all, they occur with the same frequency)? The evidence suggests that the latter is associated more strongly with how many points a team will collect over the season, so in that sense, offense does appear to matter more

High ankle sprain? Which would be unfortunate.. Of course, it's not uncommon to roll your ankle and suffer only a minor sprain and wear a boot for precautionary reasons.

Different players and all that but who's the pick of the bunch (including from your current squad)? -
Not so sure. The demand is a function of the novelty; the fact that we might be knocked out (compared to the group stages where we're guaranteed three away games); summer holidays; the geographical proximity -not to mention stadium size on the supply side. Quite a few of those factors should ease if we make it to the group stages..
