  1. Did Soares booking come from Tadic losing possession just inside the Newcastle, leaving Soares exposed? Otherwise thought he struggled defensively. Let the ball bounce too much and didn't know when to back off or go tight. Perhaps should have been more alert to the short-corner as well.
  2. Against the consensus on here, called it early on we'd be seeded Should we qualify for the group stages, we have a small chance of making it to pot 2; but fully expect us to be in pot 3.
  3. "...if he can transfer that form to Spurs"
  4. Owen you f**twit
  5. Fantastic, that's really helpful. Will check both places out. Cheers.
  6. Are there any nice places to stop on the train route between Herning and Copenhagen, assuming i leave after the match? Herning seems a dull place -and hotel prices are going up.
  7. The most dangerous thing about Arnhem was the risk of being run over by a bicycle. Says it all.
  8. Don't forget the Greggs a few doors down.
  9. Give him another 5 year contract.
  10. It's better than 50/50 imo, closer to 60/40. There were quite a few shocks in the Europa (some of which were away wins) that haven't been matched by shocks in the CL (shocks in the Europa are good for us; shocks in the CL are bad). As long as there are more shocks in the Europa than the CL, we'll be seeded.
  11. Sampdoria are as good as out in the Europa, effectively cancelling out the Ajax result (even before we discuss other possible Europa upsets). All depends on tmrw's remaining CL fixtures.
  12. Don't buy the 'no room for error' clichés. It's clear that MP has been given the job of cleaning out the stables and rebuilding the side, with a relatively limited budget (at least, compared to predecessors). He'll be judged first and foremost against that standard, not whether Spurs make top 4 next season.
  13. Lee Tomlin? A s**t Andy Reid.
  14. Unlike QPR, Sunderland are a relatively established prem side, though they've diced with relegation. And they're probably bigger than us as well.
  15. Wrong. When Beckham was 20 years old, he was playing a large role in United winning the double. HTH
  16. Les Reed does look like a south london minicab controller.
  17. Cheers. That's interesting. I guess it's also the initial acceleration or burst, as well as the full sprint speed that matters.
  18. Anybody watched him run? Has he still got that burst, that bit of acceleration to go past players? Always had an unconventional running style as he tends to run quite upright, so might be difficult to tell.
  19. Maybe he wasn't in the mood...

    JWP

Not really pal. Unless you mean your hard-on for Yoshida.

    JWP

Of course, it absolutely is. So what if Beckham hadn't yet played for a title-winning, once-in-generation-good United side? What does that have to do with JWP? The more important point is that when these players finally got their chance, they showed glimpses, even spells of brilliance -certainly more than JWP has managed in 70+ games. Just look what Beckham did in the 1995-96 season which earned him an England cap. Sometimes its easier to judge a player -and predict their future ceiling- when they've accumulated a decent body of work and a long track record.
