  1. Morgan was put on 17K pw when we were promoted to the prem. FACT
  2. What running around like dogs at Crufts? Let's see what happens: hopefully Koeman is as punishing as MP was and emphasises the fitness side. The ability to press is the only way that weaker sides can hope to level the playing field as the WC has shown.
  3. Agree - the FA cup and now this - the mongboard has had two Princess Di moments in last six months.
  4. Not to fear - you'll put the world to rights. Oh right, you don't actually go to games.
  5. Most of the mongs on here won't even be at Anfield. Stick to the fond memories of doing to the gay sway.
  6. In part, he went about things the right things because he's headed for the scrapyard and is not a major asset -he didn't have to worry about forcing a move. Not saying he would have but the deal was a win-win for player and club in the way Lallana's was not.
  7. Good to see Lambert selling the club as well
  8. Good luck to him- spent half his life with us and contributed massively to our rise up the leagues. Time to move on. When's Tadic in?
  9. Cheers- really interesting
  10. Not exactly the same -in part, Wenger was forced to loan Campbell out because of work permit issues.
  11. Not a proper one, involving 30-40 games a season that would crowd out any semblance of a domestic league. At the moment, we have a glorified cup competition -as you point out- but that's a necessary compromise if you still believe that strong domestic leagues have a role to play in the future of football.
  12. Yes it's just you. A degree of cup football -there is still a group stage- is the invariable price you pay for not moving lock, stock and barrel to a European super-league and attempting to balance the commitments of different competitions. And it's a price worth paying: if you're not in the gilded circle, a European super league would hurt every mid-sized club, pushing them further down the path of Scottish football impotence.
  13. Or if we are to keep our allocation - make it the top three and introduce a playoff involving the next four (4-7) for the remaining spot.
  14. Lallana, Shaw et al. wouldn't be leaving if we were signing the likes of Witsel.
  15. Our exits are likely to be on a different scale Walt Jr.
  16. I saw MLG's original post and he was attempting to put you in your place, reminding you that he was off to Brighton.
  17. I know Wenger's a cheap **** but £15m for Morgan would be an insult.
  18. Walt Jr- any ITK snippets like previous summers? After all, you did break the Lovren deal.
  19. No. Saying that. I always liked MP's steely indifference to all forms of media. Anyone in a position of authority using Twitter is a bit cringeworthy.
  20. Look we've been told the aim is still Europe.
  21. Thought you were slightly more sensible than to invoke every self-respecting mong's Peter Risdale analogy. That's what happens in business - people spend other peoples money. Unless you are your own boss and have no liabilities, we're all Peter Risdales. Now if you want to imply that money was being uncontrollably, setting us on the course to financial oblivion a la Risdale, would say you're talking b*****ks.
  22. Did I deny other clubs had a vision, if that's what you want to call it? Just said $$$ and size of club are not trump cards that settle every argument. Different clubs have different visions, different visions appeal to different players. Just in the same way people join start-ups and others work for big, established multinationals. FWIW, Liverpool have a pretty compelling vision - Rodgers is a young, charismatic manager, believes in playing attractive football, uses an English core and are challenging again. But so did we, albeit it was pitched very differently - and a track record to show that it was not just a generous sprinkling of fluff and guff. We'll see if the new regime can credibly convey a new one.
  23. Agree - do think there might be something in this. Too many dinlows who've never experienced or tasted professional success reduce motivation to a brute Pavlovian response - more $$$, bigger club. Don't get me wrong, they're important but they're not everything.
  24. Miltonroader, you maverick, you.
