  1. You don't remember this absolute for-the-ages classic http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?42098-Are-we-a-better-side-without-Lallana&highlight=Lallana Mongs as recently as last summer were also boasting that their fears about Lallana had been proven correct.
  2. Not so sure - read all this rubbish about LBs being less important but they're arguably one of the most important positions in the modern game as teams rely less and less on wingers. When teams come and park the bus, a good attacking fullback is the one position that enjoys a bit of space and can be the difference in unlocking a defence. In our specific case, the lack of pace in the team, made worse by Jrods injury, puts even more responsibility on the shoulders of Clyne and Shaw.
  3. Would bite your hand off for that scenario - let's face it, time isn't quite on Lallana's side.
  4. Actually think that Reed has expanded his power significantly under the new regime, so not sure what more you're expecting. We never heard from him before. Ironic people are looking to him as a solution after all the ridicule he's got on the mongboard. I guess this vacuum is also part the consequence of not recruiting a more established CEO as opposed to just a bean counter.
  5. Yes - with CL football, they're preparing to spend big time http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27122370
  6. Think Roy was also interested in Jrod when he was managing Fulham.
  7. We'll see though there are quite a few people who've swallowed his words hook, line and sinker.
  8. Always love how Leeds are still relevant, whichever division they're in. The Prem needs them. Not sure what the reactions said about their rivals - other than they had every reason to avoid singing about City but not Liverpool ones. In previous seasons, the City chants have been a lot louder - indeed some of our songs have been directly lifted from them.
  9. Who knows - ultimately, there's only so far they can go with us. Given Lallana's age and the fact he's had only one full season at the very top, can see why he would want to take advantage of this window of opportunity. Shaw, though the brighter prospect, is a different matter. Time is on his side and he's in a relatively pressure-free environment where he can continue to learn. Jackonary's posts made the upside pretty clear. Guess what we do with the proceeds will give some clue as to the board's motivations and the answer.
  10. Most likely a step backwards but if MP is allowed to spend the money and we can strengthen up top and improve squad depth, who knows. Out of all our assets, I would be inclined to let Morgan go as Cork and Victor could do very well in the middle (wtf Cork isn't tied down is a glaring failure). But talk about cashing in is hardly encouraging and symbolically it all stinks.
  11. It's not looking good but could accept us selling players as long as there's a commitment to strengthen with the proceeds. Will wait and see what the board does.
  12. Don't be ridiculous- most people want to see us build on what we have, that's it. Boll**ks about the champions league has nothing to do with it.
  13. https://mobile.twitter.com/AndyBowerman Talk of several goodbyes
  14. United fans were poor after we scored, waking up again in the 2nd half . Apart from Vidic and an ironic chant about RVP, no songs about their current crop of players - says everything about where they are as a club.
  15. Their "You can shove your f**king England up your arse" was in particularly good taste. Thought only the scousers did that.
  16. Watched him in other games - when he bulks up a bit, will be a fantastic player, a touch of Lallana about him.
  17. More full-of-s**t hyperbole - Jamie Jackson called it. Shock horror - more people than not are willing to accept bad news when a well-respected, well-sourced journo is behind a story.
  18. Shaw bossed Januzaj- the united fans were saying the same thing on the train back. Wanyama played v.well - showed more finesse in his game, though it was a silly free kick to give away. Out of our midfield three, Morgan didn't particularly impress.
  19. What about getting better and better? Beating our 56 point haul, trying to knock on the doors of 6th, having a run in the cups. Plenty we can aspire to - talk of glass ceilings is ludicrous.
  20. Got more time on his side than Lallana.
  21. Timothee kolodziejczak
  22. As a starting offer, not to be sneezed at as long as any sum is reinvested.
