  1. Did I say they wanted to swap places with us? Nope sunshine. I merely said they were envious of what we had achieved - pay a visit to their mongboards and see what they think of us. Or speak to some Hull fans. CB Fried not the sharpest tool. Not a hypothetical. FACT.
  2. Do I? Making comparisons is one thing; but playing a game of cake-and-eat it hypotheticals and nonsequiturs is another. For instance, its hard to think of many scenarios in which we would be in Hull's league position and at the same time have four full internationals - international recognition is a reflection of how well we've done in the league.
  3. Another round of everyone's favourite mongboard game. The entire premise of asking whether I would rather be in Hull's position but with Saints squad is frankly ludicrous. Akin to asking if I like blondes or brunettes but then slipping in that the blonde is really an albino who is really a bloke. Nope I would rather be in Saints league position with Saints squad. End of. A team that includes four full English internationals and is the absolute envy of the rest of the league. If you don't believe me, just ask Hull fans.
  4. Liked MP's postmatch interview - said it was one of the most enjoyable games he's taken part in the prem. He's a proper competitor and likes nothing more than a good scrap. Lovren should have been off and we gave up some very clever yellows. Otherwise Webb didn't give us much though I thought the lino on our side had a poorer game, esp 2nd half.
  5. Who's that pal?
  6. Stop being a nob.
  7. I know pal- they were mightily unlucky to hit a post. A few inches inside and it would have been a different game...
  8. Nobody it appears. Another bull****ter with too much time on his hands. Glasgow had his pants pulled down and wool pulled over his eyes. And I thought it takes a bulls***ter to know a bulls***ter.
  9. It was a fantastic opportunity to win something. I don't disagree with any this, even if I think that the cup isn't what it was -and ultimately want to see as competitive saints side as possible and the league remains the best yardstick of absolute progress.
  10. Read the article yesterday - excellent read. But dont see where 'get over it' suggestion comes from - it very much admits that that world and the cultural underpinnings that gave the cup its significance have largely disappeared with little relevance to the here and now.
  11. Surely mater could have started the postmatch thread in BS' absence.
  12. Where did I say we chucked the game because the crowd was too small, you clown. Rarely go to games? Surprise, surprise, you haven't got a clue.
  13. See what you're saying but given the numbers we've been taking since L1 (635 to Hartlepool in midweek November, the 1000+ to Carlisle etc), none of the qualifications change the fact that it was a pathetic turnout. Plenty of people didn't go but nonetheless care how we got on -fair enough, the whole superfan thing is b******ks. But given the uproar over the result that is still rumbling on three weeks on ("one of my lowest times supporting saints" among the many pearlers you'll find in the landfill of threads dedicated to the subject), its reasonable to ask how many people put their money where their mouths are.
  14. We took 859 fans for our most important game of the season - hardly a ringing endorsement. At least, you voted with your mouth rather than your feet, good lad.

JWP got ALL the assists in the games you mention - Wanyama was MOTM at Stoke etc. The problem in those games was not defending but opening up teams -and we all know how much of a creative threat Cork is And no Cork didn't get 5 MOTM in a row when he came back in, sunshine.

Even though Wanyama and JWP were variously MOTM or got key assists in those games. We might (just might) have lost those games too. We'll never know
  17. Thought Bolasie was pretty handy for them - iirc he was in the Plymouth side we beat to basically ensure our promotion from L1.
  18. Boo hoo.
  19. Agree - not sure what games some have been watching. If anything Lallana has been playing CAM recently. Davis has been playing on the right hand side - in effect where JWP was earlier in the season. Indeed, we've played Lambert out there on occasion (Newcastle, A), suggesting it's been a bit of problem area. As you say, Davis holds his runs so that the fullback -whether Clyne or Chambers- can push on. If we want a greater threat down there, perhaps we should be looking to replace Clyne for Chambers rather than focussing simply on Davis. Indeed, the Fulham game epitomised how well Davis links up with the FB - but it was only in the second when Clyne came on -and in the process set up the second goal that we saw the full benefits IMO.
  20. You're missing my point. I'm asking when he was included in the banner? Which season- the season we got promoted from L1? Either way, it was before the achievements you mention. As I say, what he's subsequently done more than vindicates his inclusion.
  21. Remember him coming on in the league up at Barnsley in 2007 in really **** conditions. We were trailing 2-0 at HT. Turned the game on its head.
  22. Correct Gaston went to the right.
  23. When did Lambert go up? Ridiculousy early if you ask me, though his subsequent performance has gone a long way in vindicating his inclusion.
