  1. Who cares - they got the results in the ones that mattered.
  2. The self-righteous c**ts who have a pop at others for not being more vocal or 'getting behind the lads', even though they too have traveled hundreds of miles for a rainy midweeker.
  3. This isn't aimed at you, more a general posting style. As far as I know, you haven't spent time trawling through far right websites to make a point, tempered by a "he's great" that looks either moronic or half-hearted in comparison
  4. It cuts both ways. No problem with discussing an individual's legacy which is never clear-cut, the good, the bad and everything in between. Still 'Great but...' posts would appear a lot more sincere if they actually reflected on the former statement -indeed when the very same posts ridicule others who call him an inspiration (after all, he's 'great'), you can't help but be sceptical and think its a bit of necessary and preemptive window-dressing so that they can address what really concerns them. A fuller appreciation of someone's successes would make for a credible appraisal of their failures, the choices, the trade-offs and the constraints under which they acted as the two can never be fully separated and hopefully provide some way to reconcile the them. Alas that part of the ledger is ignored beyond a "he's great or he did alot of good things (what? - I would say that he failed to achieve much once in power)" which is either moronic and cliched or contrived and disingenuous. My optimistic side likes to believe its the former.
  5. Not aimed at Bletch at all - more a rhetorical or reasoning style that infests threads like these.
  6. He's a great man but.... With that obligatory skin-deep disclaimer out of the way. Mug
  7. They'll try to do what they did to us last time. Be direct in the mould of Pardew teams, hitting diagonal balls behind our full backs.
  8. Hope we can give spurs and Everton a run for their money.
  9. Like the world is so simple that they can be neatly separated.
  10. He's just wrong rather than a troll and would rather cut his nose to spite his face than admit so.
  11. So there we have it: for half of his life Mandela hated peace. It is irrelevant to discuss what legal alternatives existed to purse his goals as it is whether he was plunged into trade-offs that were not entirely his choosing. It is also irrelevant to put actions in the context of a struggle against a violent, repressive system that treated millions as a subspecies of humanity. No he hated peace and the rest is irrelevant, irrelevant, irrelevant.
  12. As GS puts it himself
  13. Turkish's nonce juice
  14. He hasn't looked himself this season and indeed towards the end of last season. Before that, there was no better midfielder in the prem.
  15. Alternatively open a new account and spread the infractions across accounts. Though guessing there's no need to tell you that.
  16. Was worried he wouldn't give us the same threat as Clyne going forward but had a v.strong game.
  17. Cork was excellent, though Yaya Toure has been off the boil for a while. Can see them bringing in another holding midfielder.
  18. Its beauty and the beast. Loved how in the first half he skinned two men in front of the Itchen North and then delivered a great cross.
  19. Not really - Discrimination was factually worse in SA than NI - the basis of discrimination, religious or racial, is a second order point. That doesn't underplay or discount what happened to Catholics in NI but if you look across education, employment outcomes etc, there remains a big difference between the two experiences.
  20. You're against the killing of defenseless, innocent civilians and believe Iraq is no different from South Africa? You believe in nonviolence? Enlighten me....
  21. Perhaps the Luton marches against returning soldiers is more your thing...
  22. So a systemic and deliberate attempt to subjugate an entire people based on something as arbitrary as the colour of their skin? Didn't think so....
  23. You taking over the midnight shift from the gift that keeps on giving Turkish? Has the British army instituted apartheid in Iraq? Systemic discrimination, repression and segregation?
  24. So the British army in Afghanistan is carrying out apartheid? Systematic discrimination, repression and segregation? Wish I had come home earlier if I had known the mongboard was offering this kind of Friday night entertainment.
