Possibly because he's our only player with premiership pedigree (something people on here have moaned about) and captained a host of teams- and Cork had never played above NPC and went slightly off the boil in the second half of last season. So giving him the 8 shirt wasnt an odd decision in the first instance but had Cork been fit earlier we may have discovered earlier that Cork was currently a better fit (fwiw Davis has been better than people claim) and NA would have been able to choose from a full squad. But for factors outside NA's control and nothing to do with 'interference' , he didn't have luxury. He has done for the last two weeks.
-
Basically NA is playing the same team, style and formation he played against Villa (still our biggest win this season) but now he's got Cork back from injury and Shaw has come in. If he had had a full complement of players, this would have been done a lot earlier. In addition, eith Cork back in, Davis drops to the bench pushing Guly, another versatile midfielder out.
-
It might be from the source as yours but I hear Adkins is so keen to manage his way that he's paying Guly out of his own pocket for breach of contract.
-
Like Cortese picking the team?
-
Not talking about you fella. I'm referring to the halfwit, no smoke without fire reasoning on here that sees this incident as suddenly vindicating every other rumour about the club. Coz that's how some are interpreting this incident.
-
F**k - took my eye off the ball with this one. Will be the first game I miss this season. If anyone has a spare going, would be very interested.
-
Has it been found that the club is in the wrong over the training ground? Perhaps, there is an issue with contractors and building work over specifications/quality but this is a distinctive category of problem and I struggle to see how it spills over or relates to team selection and various other 'rumours'.
-
No it doesn't. You're still the carol mcgiffen of mongboards
-
The judge has demanded the club to pay up but (i) its very different from the skates and (ii) its not proof positive that the club is in the wrong ever time there is an 'allegation' or 'rumour'. Most sensible people prefer to treat each case on its merits. In this particular case, a court has decided that the club has f**ked up.
-
I hear that he's the first-in-last-out-take-work-home-type but that''s just another rumour.....
-
Then I cant live with it. Did I say he does?
-
The judge held that the club should pay up for the remaining work done, presumably on the basis that the overruns were due to the club varying the specs. Nothing more, nothing less but questionable business ethics?!?! -you make it sound like Cortese is an arms dealer who dabbles in human trafficking and money laundering on the side. At worst, he's trumped up little to$$er but as long as he holds himself to the same exacting standards as he appears to hold everyone else, I can live with that.
-
I thought it was a more positive news thread. Looking forward to your one-eyed m**g efforts to join all the dots up and conclude that everything is rotten at the club....
-
Club pays hardball, putting its interests above everything else (nothing wrong with that) and gets burned (well its not like they had to pay damages or anything). Not great news: bviously you don't want a reputation for being hard to deal with -though in this climate who is going to sniff at potential work- but you don't want a reputation for being pushovers either.

One to skip -well past being of even comedy value. Shame really.
-
Agree - a combo of Mayuka, Lambert and Ramirez would be class. Would like to see us try it even if we have to sacrifice Lallana.
-
Guly won that battle, though. How many goals did Guly score against Palace last season? Zaha against us?
-
Would your lot make it all the way around?
-
And I thought Van Persie's hat-trick was bad enough. No we've got to go and ape his chant.
-
He did it several times last season but a blatant one at wham last season really sticks out. Been inclined not to give him the benefit of the doubt ever since.
-
Don't get all wilfred owen on us, you lemon.
-
****** and soil yourself like some on here do. Just make sure you're not wearing grey.
-
Hardly makes him a hypocrite. It's not as if he's publicly stated or vowed one thing and done another. If anything, it makes him remarkably consistent, however misguided.

Thanks for sharing what you have -always hard to see through the fog and see part of the picture let alone all of it. Caution is the watchword. Just one thing: in addition to Reed, you spoke to a current player? Is that correct? Are they privvy to transfer news?
