  1. Totally agree - dagenham's the one club i've felt a degree of sympathy for- like the management -john still/terry harris and their lot took it on the chin without the grovelling love-in between opposing fans you sometimes get on these occasions e.g. Southend.
  2. Punch doesnt take buses - he rides solo in his showboat.
  3. Doesn't say much we dont already know and focuses more on the lack of support for torres: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/12/alex-oxlade-chamberlain-liverpool-transfer-bid
  4. "Its not about the 11" another gem from the manic font of random wisdom that is NA
  5. And could be combined with suggestions on the other thread to turn the chappell into the kop...you wouldn't want any old stand to be named after him.
  6. You could hear the one markus liebherr chant tonight but like the other grounds it has been sung, it never seems to catch on with any gusto. The big man deserves more.
  7. yep wolves away when we reached the playoffs - but for some reason, tonight feels sweeter.
  8. back of block 4 as per ST
  9. bart is the karate kid and kelv is mr miyagi - he'll get his chance one day. till then...
  10. JPS and his non-too-blatant penalty shoves- best signing of the lot (at least, pre-new regime)
  11. here we go great memories
  12. we beat them on pens after a 2-2 draw (think shearer got one that night, so they weren't technically winners). the fixture will always be remembered for flowers save of giggs pen.
  13. From NA's comments on Saturday, Hammond is touch-and-go with an injury. If so will be sorely missed as this is a Hammond type of game.
  14. go ravens...another bruising steelers/ravens showdown to come.
  15. Pardew?
  16. harry at home
  17. Thought his comments were hilarious - holloway does camp in his inimitable, aggrieved style. On one interpretation they contain alot of respect for us, admitting we're a big club, even if we've temporarily fallen from grace. But for now they are premiership and we're not famous anymore.
  18. Was always on the cusp of doing something for us, even in a horrible set-up. Lost count of the number of times he hit the woodwork with 25-yard curlers.
  19. Wonder if there is some kind of break clause if we dont get promoted this season?
  20. Camera's certainly giving him a fair bit of attention
  21. Dont think he adds anything that Barny doesnt already offer - not saying he's a bad player but given the choice i'd prefer a striker/forward with genuine pace. Guly has worked well with lambert because he has been making runs behind the defence, even though guly is ultimately a deep lying AM. The ability to sucker teams on the counter will be a particular asset as we make up our lost away games. We cant sign everyone and in light of what we have and what we need, somebody like antonio would be much more useful to us than austin.
  22. pilkington is hard to believe-he recently i.e. 10 days ago signed a new contract with the udders taking his contract with them to 2014.
  23. thats right, some french bankers....
  24. The upcoming game at Oldham will be a barometer of where we are - we're still a bit iffy on the road. And apart from sheff weds, we still have to play all the top sides on their patch.
  25. I reckon you're right given the wally downes connection.
