Even if he scores a hatful for them (unlikely) and they’re promoted, they’ll know exactly what will happen in the Prem to him and they’ll have no obligation to retain him so he’ll be stinking out Staplewoo while we offer him up. Then we’ll get to the end of the summer with no interest at our price point and he’ll be back in our Championship squad.

WTF does it matter? He’ll be dropped next game for scoring a goal. 😏

Honestly, Armstrong is so far from looking like a Prem player it’s unreal.

You - the conversation was geared to this window and my point was I would prefer giving worthy U-21’s a chance rather than loanees, to which you suggested loanees were the preference previously and I countered that loanees like Cornet didn’t exactly improve anything. Keep up. 😉

I can’t see any player in a Prem squad that’s any better than our U-21’s wanting to come here in this window. It would be a strange decision for an overseas player to come here, but more likely especially if they think they might be seen on the EPL stage and they get a great offer. We’ll be suffering this squad albeit a little smaller until the end of the season and our relegation.

It’s a shame. Of all the signings from that window, his excited me the most as I remember him as a very skilled attack minded, pacey winger. At Saints at least he’s been a shadow of his former self - bit of a shock if I’m honest.
