Surprised to see Groanback starting…he must be trusted implicitly to do a job which tends to suggest he’s shown himself to be a cut above in training. Either that or Juric has completely lost it with a contingent in the rest of the squad - no surprise there. I like this - provides something unexpected and a tad exciting.

I think to be fair we could be a lot worse off than with SR, even though they’ve made some horrific mistakes which I think Solak has acknowledged by saying the football dept has been badly eroded (or words to that effect). Hindsight is a wonderful thing and moulding an entire club to a particular philosophy where the quality of player has not matched the aspiration, has severely failed. It’s going to take a huge investment in time and money to turn things around and we need to be prepared for that not to happen next season with an immediate promotion. The risk of course is that another failure of substantive proportions could see us dive deep into Championship relegation territory again, just like Derby are doing now. Let’s hope Spors gets on-board asap and knows what the fuck he’s doing.

Totally switched off, but that’s the difference - slow walking football versus dynamic fast flowing passing. Our systems and coaching is as poor as the players ability to compete in this league.

Story of the game so far. On top, one up and with some wind in our sails. Officials didn’t like that so VAR gave a soft pen and the Ref didn’t have the balls to stick with his own decision. Newcastle score the pen, our heads drop and our defence opens up like a flower for them to score again. 1-2. Too many sub-standard players across the team to get back into this.
