Err, what’s this ‘winning’ thing you speak of? 🤔 There are so many questions… Seriously though, with the number of posts you have I’m suspecting you’ve not grasped the concept of banter on a football forum. Letting off a bit of steam in a responsible manner never hurt anyone, let alone a professional football club. There can’t be too many supporters that are not grateful for the highs, however even the most optimistic among us are starting to question the length of this barren period.

I’m hoping he’s been targeted for the Chumpionship and we’ve got him early to try him out in the new look side Juric is building. At that price that would make sense - otherwise it’s another daft SR experiment trying to match EPL quality on the cheap, albeit low risk.

You do know that we’ll be playing Championship football next season right? 😂 It’s a big dilemma for the club - a striker that is likely not going to contribute goals in this league for the remainder of this season and has scar tissue on scar tissue so might be ineffective next season as a result - release or keep in the hope he can re-create his form next season following a torrid time in the EPL and approx. 2 years older? Its a really tough call - him or Archer?

I’m not saying it was a bad move or that there were other options. Of course there wouldn’t be at this stage. I just doubt he’ll do ‘well enough’ for them to want to retain him if they win promotion and in that case he’ll be back with us and any other losers from this season that we’re unable offload. This squad is damaged - I don’t want him back…

I’m delighted he’s gone. The point I originally made (several posts ago) was that there’s little guarantee that they’ll retain him going into the Prem if they get promotion. He’ll end up back with us which would be terrible for us and indeed the player. Let’s hope for all parties it all works out and he’s not still bloating the squad at the end of the summer window.

Based on the entirely possible scenario that we continue to plummet into the depths of the Championship, I’m trying to be as sanguine as possible about our demise. In a strange kind of way I’m intrigued about the potential actions Juric and SR have got lined up to exorcise the shiteness demons that have pervaded the club for several seasons now. I hope that we see some radical changes to the squad in getting shot of the habitual losers like Stephens, Bednarek, Bree, Aribo, Armstrong, Downes, Manning, Smallbone, Fraser etc. The only current starting players I’d likely keep are Rambo, THB, Wood, KWP, Fernandes, Dibling, Archer, Suga and hopefully Charles and Big Les.

That’s a possibility, but I doubt it…his day is done otherwise why loan him out? One season of mediocrity - not sure that’s going to do it, otherwise why not just buy the player now if they’re that certain? Fact is there’s a big question mark over his ability to perform in the Prem (or indeed after a very poor season with us, there’s a case to be slightly pessimistic about his ability to perform at Championship level).

Absolutely. Even if he scores a hatful for them (unlikely) and they’re promoted, they’ll know exactly what will happen in the Prem to him and they’ll have no obligation to retain him so he’ll be stinking out Staplewoo while we offer him up. Then we’ll get to the end of the summer with no interest at our price point and he’ll be back in our Championship squad.

WTF does it matter? He’ll be dropped next game for scoring a goal. 😏
