If anyone thinks we've got an easy run to the final they're mad. This game could be lost quite easily given it's away and the weather could be awful, plus Sunderland are no push-over. At least the thug Brown is not playing. If we win it'll be something like 2-3. Even if we get through this round, there's every chance we'll get drawn against one of the top four - not that we can't beat those teams, but it will be very tough.

This guys looks like he's got Adam skills but on steroids...nice goals and he's young enough to improve where necessary. Would be a great signing.

Mmm, Yoshida and Fonte have done pretty well together by all accounts. Lovren will not necessarily walk straight back into the starting line-up.

Great battling game - Fonte was immense at the back and clinical in front of goal too. Lambert was sloppy with a few balls unfortunately and JRod wasted some clear chances too - we need our front line to be more clinical. Midfield is looking very, very solid indeed with Ward-Prowse and Wanyama coming off the bench. Even Guly doesn't look too bad lately with a bit of fire in his belly and unlucky not to score this evening. Top three points and now sat 8th with Utd in our sights.

We will lose 1-3...We've lost the knack of winning by finishing off teams.

If you had to put money on Lambert or Carroll scoring from the penalty spot in a crucial game with all the pressure, I know where mine would go....and it wouldn't be Carroll. This alone places SRL above AC.

Well I understand he liked to micro manage certain projects, but then much of Saints resergence was attributable to his vision, like it or not. And I just don't believe all of the Nasty Nick stories that many have rolled out.

How anyone can say Carroll deserved the red I don't know. In full view of the Ref Flores had his arm around Carrolls neck - that should have been at least a yellow for start. But then to fein facial injury like that is a disgrace and brings the game into disrepute. I am not convinced that Carroll knew exactly what was going on and a yellow may have been appropriate, but never a red. The FA have somehow conspired to get this wrong....both in terms of Carroll and Flores.

Fox would have been a better all round option than the OP's suggestion at 33yo TBH. So no, give Targett the chance to shine like Chambers.

Well if its true that Adidas did mess up then Cortese had every right to get hacked off IMO. I just wonder whether the purchasing team were empowered to sort it out, or did Cortese decide it was a such an issue that he felt the need to get personally involved? See where I'm going with this?
