Long looks like a fish out of water on the left/right - I would give him a go centrally and push JWP out wide right for a spell. There's simply not enough movement and quick passing when in the final third, but worst of all no really decent attempts on goal. The goal was fortunate but I'm pleased for Morgan - is he top scorer now?

I fear we've seen the last of the activity now. We'll be OK this season with the squad we have, but only just.

Fair play to Pelle, he came good tonight and while he missed a few his 1st touch and passing was better. But before we all get too carried away, let's not forget that was against Millwall. I hope that gives him some confidence to move forward. Not a classic cup match really - Easter was a bit of a handful, but the rest of 'em were not much. Good win - next.

That would be excellent business to end the summer window. If Morgan still doesn't believe in what's going on here, then let the lad go and move on. We've still got a pretty damn good midfield without him - e.g. Cork and Big Vic looked very good together last season. IF Clasie came in also, our midfield would be extremely strong with Davis, JWP, Reed etc.

Very losable if we send out a bunch of 2nd string strangers. If Koeman treats this right, 1-2 could be likely.

Don't for one minute agree with booing your own team...that is not support by definition. Yes Pelle needs time to adjust, however he is here to do a job and the majority of his role is to score goals. To score goals you need to be in the right place at the right time and yet there was not one time when he put himself in that place on Saturday, however that is based on the style of play we adopted...pass it across the backline or hoof it. Pelle excells around the 6 yard box...we didn't attack that area hardly atall. In summary then, it's as much about Pelle getting more mobile as it is about Reed making a damned good wide player signing before 11pm this evening.

£10m to spend on a two footed attacking wide midfielder who can cross a ball. Who would you buy?

Great keeper. He's English and he's ours. What is there not to like?

99% of those goals were taken in or around the 6 yard box and came from crosses into that area. We don't have anyone who can deliver those types of balls and consequently Pelle is having to cope with a completely different style of play - one he ultimately may not be suited to. Yes, he should be given time, but it is extremely important that (a) the club do everything to buy in a two footed wide player capable of crossing...and (b) the coaching staff work with Pelle to identify strategies to maximise his potential. If these things are not done, he will have a poor season and this might also reflect on Koemans compentency too given the history between the two.

Lump it to Pelle or knock it back or side wards tactics appear to be the order of the day. Pelle has a huge task to make himself near the required standard - today his heading and trapping of the ball was woeful. JWP did not look comfortable in his position, however he was extremely unlucky not to score from the freekick. Tadic and Vic were great...the rest ok...just.

This could well be a bit of a wake up call...not an easy game atall to get a result and the longer it goes without us scoring the more chance of a defensive mistake letting them in. I'm predicting 1-1. It will be interesting to see if Gardos gets a start. Pelle will start...Ron favourite.

This is likely to be a bit of humiliating defeat, but I think more than any other game, I would love to see Saints boss this game and give Rodgers and his ex-Saints a bloody nose.
