MOD = Must Obliterate Discussion??? (-;

Just wait until Barnet see him play - they'll be ditching him at the first opportunity. The games I've seen him play he's a complete waste of space on a football field and an unnecessary drain on the clubs finances.

Never liked the lad.

Southampton v Portsmouth Charity Match
Saint Fan CaM replied to Matthew Le Tissier's topic in The Saints
Just don't let Pompey get hold of the proceeds otherwise it might go missing to pay for illegal players. lol -
Meh. Great game of football - like two prize fighters slugging it out toe to toe. Trouble is Adkins didn't change things around early enough which meant the midfield was overrun and the defence was put under too much pressure. We didn't keep possession and pass the ball around like we did against Utd. There were some individual errors but this ultimately cost us the 3 points.

It's true that the 1st goal can be blamed at Davis - it was a pretty soft goal for an ex-Prem keeper to concede. The 2nd was all Hardings fault - he lost his man simple. Bart is OK, however is distribution is worse than Davis and he would make as many mistakes I feel. Davis has played some excellent football in the past, but I would have swapped their keeper for ours any day of the week though - he kept them in the game and showed how to do it time after time.

Completely agree with this point of view. If you score four goals away from home and don't win, the defence must come under scrutiny and Seaborne had a mare of a game frankly despite the fact that he was up against the best striker in the league. Harding made one crucial mistake by not sticking with his mark - one mistake but a fundamental one. I think some blame must also go to the management team - at 2-4 they should have made a change to the formation immediately...they didn't and our midfield was overrun. We sat too deep trying to make up for the fact Posh were able to advance through the midfield much too easily.

Again, the lack of transfers in this window tells us NA and NC have done some excellent business.

Top post and I completely agree. I am astounded that there are muppets on here that don't realise what has been achieved in this window.

Not sure how you are in a position to judge them yet on their standard IN THIS TEAM!?!? The team (in L1) at full strength could probably not be bettered, so anyone who comes in is not going to get an immediate start unless there are injuries. They have come in to bolster the squad and provide an alternative when others are injured or need a rest (or go to jail). So by that reasoning they HAVE improved the team significantly, where significant means without them we would need to play players out of position - e.g. Dickson on the wing. PS: My take on this window is 9/10. Pretty damn good business keeping hold of some exceptional talent, signing perm deals and bringing in new blood. Fantastic really.

Incredible morons on here that think a few posters on a Scunny forum represent the whole fanbase and provide an accurate assessment of a player! AND for some unfathomable reason these same nutters cannot seem to come to terms with the simple fact that (a) this lad might flourish among the better players we have in our squad (yes, they are collectively better than the Scunny squad) and (b) he will also benefit from the far better coaching facilities this club offers. The club has basically answered all the questions asked of it over the transfer window - players we wanted retained - we've retained. New blood with pace on the wings and a striker...one purchased and one loaned...done deal. And we've kept Oxo when everyone was convinced he would go, which is a fantastic show of commitment from NC who really does believe in the long-term plan. Frankly, if you're disappointed with the outcomes of this notoriously difficult window it's obvious common sense has somehow eluded you. We need to give the boy 2-3 games to settle in before the boo boys get to work on him.

Apparently he's on a bus to Blackpool. Or somewhere. -

Forte will be a good signing for us. He has a chance to get into the squad pretty much straight away which means he'll want to impress. Seems to me like he has been constrained or not happy in some way at Scunny since NA left. -

Let's hope you're right - lose Fonte and kiss promotion goodbye IMO. -

Please not Fonte - the promotion challenge would be right off the rails if he went. In the top 3 most important players to this club IMO. -

Hmm, assuming it's true can't see Martin being too impressed if he's blocked that move given the lack of appearances he's had under Adkins - Eastleigh to Prem in 2 seasons is not too shabby really. He'd be earning at least three times his current deal I suspect. -
It matters not what previous managers think - if that was the case Chaplow would never play again if his previous manager had a say. Chaplow for me is the best and most likely choice because he would provide consistency in role potentially all the way through to the Prem. If he and Schneiderlin keep up their partnership even better still.
