Exactly this. He was being played at RB ahead of KWP so Jones could shoe-horn him in - made no sense. To his credit he has done a really good job at LB…arguably better showings than when he played RB.

It’s true…we’ve been scraping draws with teams that aspire to get into the play-off zone! That’s not to say RM couldn’t do more with this squad in the 2nd half of the season. Let’s re-visit at the end of the year…maybe we’ll win all the games we’re expected to win?

It’s not just the fact that Manning has a number deficiencies - the back four are left completely unbalanced when he’s in the side. KWP and Bree execute RM’s system far more intelligently than Manning, who seems to think going on walk-about and then giving the ball away is a smart move.

If he finds the hole that Manning will inevitably leave (should he start, which he almost certainly will) he’ll have a field day. Think this will see a return to the shit early season form - it’s been threatening and we’ve ridden our luck lately. Since Mannings return and Downes/Sully getting injured we’ve been looking a shadow of a solid play-off team. I’m just waiting for RM to tinker with the CB pairing to get JS back in, even though it’s obvious he’s been playing his two best CB’s…could it be tomorrow? 1-2 loss on the cards.

I think I’ve found an amazing correlation. The average possession rate is equal to the chances of us remaining in the Championship next season! 😉

Well it’s a point and extends the unbeaten run, but we made that horrendously hard for ourselves. Sorry - correction - Russell made that hard for us in his selection. Only redeeming factor is he didn’t have Downes available and that upsets the midfield significantly.

As I suspected - this is largely the team that had a shitshow at the start of the season and not much has changed. Add Stephens into the mix and that’ll do the job.
