I'd be more concerned that he was unplayable in a proper Prem. game but I don't see that happening.........His (perhaps) single most-important contribution to SFC 's history was his 2 goal sub. appearance in the now legendary 3-2 win over MK Dons in L1....for that I am grateful - because without it, we might not have got promotion that season... ....but other that that....I don't see him in a Saints first team shirt ever again .....who knows ?.

These days, every club knows about players in the other teams squad, and to continually comment on form, injuries, recovery times etc ...only goes to help the planning to counteract our tactics. AL is injured. We all saw him go off, NA said he was on crutches as a precaution......suddenly everyone expects him to be out for 1-2 months ..or more..or will it be less ? What a turn-up for the opposition if he suddenly takes the field and is in the start eleven.....in the next game...or the one after that .....or the one after that ... Personally, I hope he recovers properly AND soon, but I don't expect NA to blow his cover by announcing his return... a week before the next game, and give the opposition a head start in their planning....do you ? WHEN he's fit enough he will return. FULL STOP.

Maybe sounds a bit tough, but he was bought as an L1 player and was probably best suited to that level. Got no real chances last season and clearly is not the answer NA is looking for ....nuff said !

Many players perform better.... if they have a good " partner " to play alongside... or in this case in front of the defenders ..... Shaw is clearly a better bet at LB, but when I recall the pairing of Marsden and the young Wayne Bridge brought the best out of both of them.- doesn't sound quite so crazy...worth a try - especially in away games.

after watching Redknapp's antics at various clubs when it comes to signing big name players, on even bigger salaries - expect him to try for Frank. If he can bring his own son to SFC when he was almost crippled, he could certainly persuade his chairman to sign his own nephew........

you maybe correct, but if we don't pick up sufficient points upto the New Year - expect to see them in action a bit .....

once again !..there's only one Adam Lallana....but we have to learn to live without him ......for a while at least. BUT it's a chance to see if Tadanari Lee and Mayuka were really worth signing .....

the Swedes remember him moving to Man City as a 16 year old talent, and he went right through their youth teams like a dose of salts. Had a good season at Feyenoord, and although he wouldn't get into their first team whilst they have the likes of the talent they have at present, he'd be a good loan for someone.......

Nicely done SFC...at least one in the eye for those people who think that footballers just pocket their £ thousands every week and ignore the fans ....... Visiting hospital is not the best experience at times, but will be memorable for some of those kids....

as this thread .started out ..regarding Lallana, and that we know he's going to be out for a prolonged period it's surely the time to experiment with those players who sit on the bench every match and see what they can produce. In particular I'd like to see Mayuka for a run of games and even Tadanari Lee (remember him?) ...if he can rediscover his prev.form...... sad about Adam......but let's face it, what is a squad for.... if it's not to provide cover for such occurances?

....and so who's going to be in the middle to convert all these chances?...you may have noticed that RL is quite closely marked these days.....

TBH I never saw Lallana as a regular goal scorer...and regardless of age expereince, if you want to spend another £6-7 million ..then get an established striker ...and not a winger who scores occasionally.

Can't say I'm over-enthusaistic about any of our goalies....and although I agree with another CB and even extra defensive cover......and I can't think that Pennant would be such a good choice . If it's the same fella' I know about he's a walking time-bomb.. As I recall, his antics made Puncheon seem like a Sunday school teacher.

Hi Chris, yes I saw that too...and there is sure to be a lot of newsprint wasted on possible transfer stories, but clubs who want to bid for Shaw may as well save their breath and leave their money in the wallet.

can't see Celtic letting either of them go, now that they are in the last 16 of CL......even if they flop, it'll be April before they are out of the reckoning...and if they do well.... these two will be "un-buyable "
