started my own " fan-ship " about the same time....and going to watch with a group of school mates from Shirley Warren. We used our midweek history lesson to "predict " score and scorers, but we were little better than Lawro is today. I agree the £3 MDM is a rip-off, but I recently bought some back to Sweden for my (now) adult sons to read...who cut their teeth on Match of the Day (when shown in Sweden) in that period. However, there is much more input from the players ...and articles on the Academy teams (which didn't exist at that time) and the (then) Reserves sides hardly ever got a mention as I recall. ..and then there was the Albion Band .......(which had very mixed reviews from the fans)... but was a regular part of the scene anyway.

..that shouldn't take too long, there aren't many talents to choose from at present....except for the (Swedish) lad that Man.City loaned to Feyenoord. No I'm not going to revive THAT thread.

I'm going to agree with you on this one, Dibden. His positioning is dubious to say the least, and his kick-outs are a catastrophe. He needs games ....but at a level that wan't cost US points. His suicidal kick-out to Yoshida in the Swansea game gave Dyer a perfect chance which he took well, but we LOST 2 points because of it. The error in the Norwich game was a schoolboy howler (rule 1: get your body behind the ball)..and cost us another 2 piints! YES, I know ...he made a great save in the Newcastle game but TBH I don't think he knew much about it, and one good save (like Alan Blayney's v. Shearer ) doesn't necessarily make him a class goalie. We need an experienced keeper ....playing behind a solid defence .before experimenting with a 20 year old keeper. I didn't rate Bart (who seemed so slow in moving) but I'm glad to see he's found his level at Notts County. I haven't seen Butland play - since the Team GB games - but Brum don't look so strong and are also leaking goals.

I bet both he, and Nigel Adkins are looking forward to today's game at Anfield!

really looked like the " Lord Mayor's Show " after that thriller on Sunday. Gazzaniga's blooper was a schoolboy error, and it's not the first time. His suicide pass out to Yoshida in the Swansea game gave Dyer a gift. Those two mistakes cost us FOUR POINTS ! Despite NAs protests, the team did look tired in the second half and I'm afraid I haven't changed my opinion on Gazzaniga. (despite his " wonder save " v. Newcastle). Too young, too inexperienced. I'm sure he will " come good " but we need a more experienced keeper there for a few months - even if it means buying another in January.

+1 Promising -YES . Needs games -YES.... but he's not suitablefor the Prem.at present. He shows poor positioning and his kick outs are appauling! He will come good, but if he makes another blooper like the Norwich game his confidence will be shot and the fans will be on his back. We need an experienced goalie there at the moment. KD or Boruc on Saturday please.
