  1. Not so sure, I don't know if Brighton will be able to handle the long ball for a full 90+ minutes.
  2. I don't like Palace much and I'm going. Hope we win.
  3. Adkins has confirmed that Bialkowski, Martin and De Ridder will all start the game.
  4. Jaidi's still injured.
  5. As a matter of fact I have- I've just watched it on iplayer! http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b016ltyg/Monty_Pythons_Life_of_Brian/
  6. Evening all. I'm just beginning the search for my first 'proper' full time job and have started browsing through online advertisements. There's one thing that I'm not entirely sure on, which is the salary range that is given on many of the adverts, and I'm wondering if there is a general consensus on the use of this range or whether it varies with each advert and company. For example, say a company says the salary is £18k to £24k a year. I would imagine that the chances of actually getting the job and being offered £24k are fairly slim, and it's just included to make the job look more attractive? If this is not completely the case and there usually is some room for negotiation within the salary range (if/when offered the job) how can one go about negotiating a salary at the higher end of the range, without jeopardising the chance of getting the job? Is it considered bad practice to try to negotiate towards the higher end of the range? The worry I'd have is that, should I be offered a job that was advertised with a varying salary, and I decided to try to ask for more, the offerer may then decide to chose a candidate who is happy with the lower end of the range. I'm sure there was a point at which the potential employer would happily negotiate with the person they considered the best candidate for the job, however with so many people applying for each job, I'm not sure I would stand out quite enough to consider paying me an extra couple of grand a year.
  7. I can't help feeling that the best option with regards to Connolly, Guly and De Ridder would be to play Guly up front with De Ridder on the right. I feel Guly would do more than Connolly is doing up front at the moment, whilst not having the chance to lose the ball in dangerous situations. Then De Ridder adds some pace on the wing. Just depends whether or not De Ridder can do the defensive side really.
  8. Although this isn't strictly saints related, it is a football forum tbf! If you were that desperate not to know it's probably best to stay off football forums.
  9. I guess the one thing that Fonte, and to an extent Hooiveld lack which all of the other players at the back and in midfield have is competition for their place. I think bringing in some competition could only be a good thing.
  10. I think if we had another out and out striker available then Connolly would probably be predominantly a substitute by this point in the season. Don't think he's contributed a great deal the last couple of games.
  11. Although I agree Guly had a poor game, it was a great touch of his to De Ridder for the goal.
  12. Thought Cork unfortunately carried on where he left off at the West Ham game and was poor throughout, never really driving on our attacks, not getting his foot in enough and giving the ball away too often. Frustrating when we all know how good he can be.
  13. Well you've just showed how much you know about football.
  14. I read this too.
  15. More tickets on sale now, over 1500 sold already, which is pretty good going. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2488600,00.html
  16. Lol. Now reports that he is dead and the rebels have his body. Nothing confirmed as yet though.
  17. Supposedly http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-15385955
  18. Just done some Twitter searching. A Trainee journalist for Sunsport asked Jordan Sibley this: ajhalls1 Andy Halls @jordansibley morning Jordan, when do Saints do their press conferences ahead of the weekend? Cheers. To which Jordan Sibley replied this: jordansibley Jordan Sibley @ajhalls1 Hi Andy. Normally a Thurs pm but training schedule means it may be different this week. Drop me an email and I can give details
  19. Any news on Lallana?
  20. Yeah he just means the normal Thursday afternoon press conference is going to have more journalists in it.
  21. There should be plenty of streams for it because it's on Sky. So long as you have a laptop and an internet connection, you'll be fine!
  22. I noticed that Jos was very much the 'boss' of our defence last night. He seemed to be in charge of where to hold the defensive line and the majority of Crosby's instructions were given to him, presumably to pass on to the rest of the defence. Besides the deserved praise for Chaplow and others, I thought Morgan had a great game. There were numerous occasions when the ball was bouncing around or there was a bit of head tennis and Morgan put his foot on the ball or chested it under control. IMO he was the vital link between our defenders' no nonsense dealing with West Ham's hoofball and our passing attacking moves. He was also always there for the short option when the fullbacks, particularly Fox, were pushed into a corner.
  23. One reason I liked league one is that it meant my birthday (10th October) didn't fall in an international break (well it did but we still had a game).
