I noticed that Jos was very much the 'boss' of our defence last night. He seemed to be in charge of where to hold the defensive line and the majority of Crosby's instructions were given to him, presumably to pass on to the rest of the defence. Besides the deserved praise for Chaplow and others, I thought Morgan had a great game. There were numerous occasions when the ball was bouncing around or there was a bit of head tennis and Morgan put his foot on the ball or chested it under control. IMO he was the vital link between our defenders' no nonsense dealing with West Ham's hoofball and our passing attacking moves. He was also always there for the short option when the fullbacks, particularly Fox, were pushed into a corner.

One reason I liked league one is that it meant my birthday (10th October) didn't fall in an international break (well it did but we still had a game).

I think you need to check the definition of 'journeyman' considering DH has only been signed to 3 clubs his whole career. I also think Hammond has had a great season and you're completely wrong.

Looks pretty likely that Lallana will be out then. Providing Richardson is fit, I'd like to see something like this: De Ridder in for Connolly, just to add some pace, and the 3 central midfielders to counter their 5 in the middle. Though admittedly this formation may lack the width we may need.

A draw wouldn't be a bad result today, but I really hope we go from it from the start as we know we have enough up front to score goals. Although Derby got thrashed at Leicester they looked very energetic at the start of the game so we need to match that energy. And for God's sake can we please not concede in the first 15 minutes of the second half!!

I think it's pretty unlikely a draw will be a point dropped!

Sat 15 15:00 A Derby County FLC Tue 18 19:45 H West Ham Utd FLC Sat 22 17:20 A Reading FLC Tue 25 19:45 A Crystal Palace LGCP Sat 29 15:00 H Middlesbrough FLC I think if we can come out of the four league games with 8 points we'd have had an extremely good month, but I think we'll lose at least one of them, and even think our home record may come to an end when West Ham come to town. Would be good to progress to the Quarter Finals of the League Cup too.

If we have 7 yellows and one red, shouldn't our total be 9 really. Otherwise it values a red the same as a yellow.
