The tackle was horrendous, it would have injured anyone regardless of their injury history.
-
Lambert and Sharp up front would scare the sh*t out of most defenses in this league.

Had to be done.

I'm a bit stuck with this at the moment. I've done 3 away games so far, but only 1 is registered to my user number. I am not techincally a Season Ticket holder- according to the Saints records, but have a friend's season ticket for the rest of the season, as he bought one then decided to go travelling. Therefore I'm thinking of booking a Bristol City ticket on my friend's season ticket, then applying through that. My question would then be, will the person who goes to the game have to be the person who's name is on the season ticket with which they applied?

How many sold so far for boro?

Well the OS article says 'early indications show that the attendance this weekend is likely to surpass the current second highest figure of the campaign which was set at the opening fixture of the season against Leeds United.' The attendance against Leeds was 25,860. The wording of the OS article suggests that the attendance is 'likely' to surpass this amount, and therefore hasn't yet, so we can probably assume that we have so far sold somewhere between 24-25k and they are expecting to sell a few more today and have a few walk up tomorrow. Therefore a crowd of between 26k and 27k is probably likely. -
I think we may see Martin and Hooiveld at the back for this one.

Though Middlesborough don't concede many, Derby did hit the crossbar 3 times, so I'm sure we will have our chances.

Forte. Needs more playing time, or just not good enough?
for_heaven's_Saint replied to CWD's topic in The Saints
Got back go the pub after the game last night and started chatting to a couple of Palace fans. To my astonishment one of them's first comment was that he thought Forte looked a threat up front. I paused for thought, considering perhaps that I was putting a negative slant on his performance due to preconceptions about his (in)ability. However, after a moment's thought, I concluded that the Palace fan was an idiot who knew nothing about football and wasn't watching the game properly. Forte was, unfortunately, abysmal, and I don't think it was a case of him needing match practice. I honestly think if Barnard or Lambert had started in his place, we would have won the game. -
When did we last want Brighton to win?
for_heaven's_Saint replied to Kingsland Red's topic in The Saints
Not so sure, I don't know if Brighton will be able to handle the long ball for a full 90+ minutes. -
I don't like Palace much and I'm going. Hope we win.

Adkins has confirmed that Bialkowski, Martin and De Ridder will all start the game.

Jaidi's still injured.

Evening all. I'm just beginning the search for my first 'proper' full time job and have started browsing through online advertisements. There's one thing that I'm not entirely sure on, which is the salary range that is given on many of the adverts, and I'm wondering if there is a general consensus on the use of this range or whether it varies with each advert and company. For example, say a company says the salary is £18k to £24k a year. I would imagine that the chances of actually getting the job and being offered £24k are fairly slim, and it's just included to make the job look more attractive? If this is not completely the case and there usually is some room for negotiation within the salary range (if/when offered the job) how can one go about negotiating a salary at the higher end of the range, without jeopardising the chance of getting the job? Is it considered bad practice to try to negotiate towards the higher end of the range? The worry I'd have is that, should I be offered a job that was advertised with a varying salary, and I decided to try to ask for more, the offerer may then decide to chose a candidate who is happy with the lower end of the range. I'm sure there was a point at which the potential employer would happily negotiate with the person they considered the best candidate for the job, however with so many people applying for each job, I'm not sure I would stand out quite enough to consider paying me an extra couple of grand a year.

I can't help feeling that the best option with regards to Connolly, Guly and De Ridder would be to play Guly up front with De Ridder on the right. I feel Guly would do more than Connolly is doing up front at the moment, whilst not having the chance to lose the ball in dangerous situations. Then De Ridder adds some pace on the wing. Just depends whether or not De Ridder can do the defensive side really.

I guess the one thing that Fonte, and to an extent Hooiveld lack which all of the other players at the back and in midfield have is competition for their place. I think bringing in some competition could only be a good thing.
-
Blimey!
-
I think if we had another out and out striker available then Connolly would probably be predominantly a substitute by this point in the season. Don't think he's contributed a great deal the last couple of games.
-
Although I agree Guly had a poor game, it was a great touch of his to De Ridder for the goal.
-
Thought Cork unfortunately carried on where he left off at the West Ham game and was poor throughout, never really driving on our attacks, not getting his foot in enough and giving the ball away too often. Frustrating when we all know how good he can be.
-
Well you've just showed how much you know about football.

I read this too.
