A good point against a racecourse. Luckily all the teams around them didn't win either.... Oh hang on, yes they did!
-
It was a pity that Mane wasn't playing.

At least 15 people on Portsea now know that their donation has gone to a good cause.
-
Indeed, you could see by the looks on their faces that they realised they have made three big mistakes. I'm sure a manager as good as Cook could get them out of that cup fairly sharpish.

It's been alleged that their award-winning CeO lost it with an old man at the Mansfield game and shouted abuse at him. It seems that the local paper doesn't want to touch this story, thus cementing their position as the official PR partner of the club. + pompey fans booed their own team when they were leading at home against nine men - a move criticised by the local paper - thus cementing their position as the official PR partner of the club. #normalweek

And their South Stand is letting in water tonight. Sounds cheap.

Looks like the funding for a Tour de France start in Portsea seems to have gone pear-shaped in the traditional manner... Critics say the chances of being selected to stage the world’s greatest cycling race in the same year as the 75th anniversary of D-Day are very unlikely – and the fiasco makes Portsmouth ‘look stupid’. Portsmouth Lib Dem leader and former council boss, Councillor Gerald Vernon-Jackson, said: ‘It’s almost beyond belief that this seems to be going on. It cost millions in Yorkshire to put this on and it was expected locally to find that money. ‘Someone needs to get a grip of this, because it looks as if Portsmouth has been made to look stupid.’ The package, which sold Portsmouth’s achievements and boasted about the prospect of the city and French twin Caen reaping up to £100m of benefits, was produced by the council along with a number of sport and cycling experts. The authority gave the 32-page file to Portsmouth South MP Flick Drummond on the basis she would present it to Whitehall culture officials so they could make a decision whether to award Portsmouth the money. But the DCMS has revealed it has never received any business case requesting for funds to be released. That'll be the same people who claimed that their football club needed saving because it generated approx £13m per home game for the local economy. Meaning a family of four visiting Fratton Park last weekend spent £6,000 on their day out. Missing paperwork + dodgy figures = business as usual.

Inter Milan, Wycombe Wanderers....this thread now writes itself.

Their player recruitment and the management of the squad has been appalling for eight years. I suspect they are still listening to too many agents and for some reason, known only to those dealing directly with the transfers, offering longer and higher paid contracts to journeymen. The Paul Cook experiment has cost a fortune in League Two terms and today they look no nearer the heady heights of the third tier than they did three years ago.

From everything I hear he could follow Wallace right the way into the next England squad - the one that will be picked by Appleton/Cotterill or whoever else they told us was going to be the next great coach.

That's called the summer.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you have not seen previous photos or quotes....

That was well spotted. It sounds like a man running out of patience over monies that should have been paid three months ago. I'm sure local media will pick up on his comment and pursue it...

Jealousy.

I see the Chronicle is also reporting that the key Winchester hospital project is now on hold due to cut backs in post-vote lending by European banks.

People are free to support Murdoch and The Sun, but personally I would decline that offer, especially when all they are trying to do is peddle hate while distracting attention from the jailing of one of their star reporters.

My personal opinion is that an organised whip round in the current dressing room of the club where the guy was a legend, should have produced a significant amount. The club made efforts through allowing collections and several other concessions, but in an era where players are commonly thought of as selfish and money-driven, sadly the amount donated appears to reinforce that feeling, and adds a little more distance between the fans, and players who kiss shirts but care little.

At least Franny got a mention.

To quote The Godfather - Just when I thought I was out of League Two, they pulled me back in...

There must be an easier way to remember the code to the alarm system.

So the treasurer has advised the PDT that it will be time to get the begging bowl out again very soon..... That bodes well.
-
They still believe they own shares in the club?

Don't include relatives...

Debating attendance with some pompey fans is like trying to explain origami to a retarded donkey - you'll regret it! Don't waste your breath, it will just be myth after myth - from the council-owned stadium with free-tickets for asylum seekers, to the tank commander in the SS. Walk away before you get dragged into a wrestling bout with a dirty pig.
