Experience tells me these funny defeats against fellow minnows just get wiped from history as soon as they turn a corner, so make the most of them. If they beat Greendale on Saturday and Trumpton the following week they'll be right up the top - even more joint top than they are now. It's early days.
-
Ouch! That is a new low.
-
I didn't even know Morecambe had a team... Their fixture list reads like a railway timetable of delight for trainspotters - they get to go to little stations that only the hardiest of travellers will ever visit.
-
While they have plenty of time to sort it out so they are still likely to go up, why have they not attempted to solve the annual problem of not being able to break teams down? Every season they draw games because of this, when will this simple truth dawn on their manager? Even I'm getting annoyed about it now, and I generally find that sort of thing funny.
-
Bankrupt, then little.
-
They've managed to dodge us again.
-
At least it won't take long to get away from the ground. One of only 5 clubs out of 92 still able to fit their away following in one vehicle.
-
You have to admire a joke with a Naval theme!
-
I forgot that - and that our ground is really owned by the council because we are bankrupt.
-
A fantastic crowd for League Two, it shows they are a huge club... Though there were more at SMS today for a pointless friendly - and that little reality check will hurt.
-
That is the funniest addition to the media template that I've seen in ages! Nice to see the old favourites are still there though - passion, sell-outs, sleepy giant, massive wage increase etc.
-
I was offered that ludicrous myth the other week so it is now a fact on Portsea. Tis written in stone, it cannot be denied...
-
That could possibly be the worstest walkout in history! You won't be able to tell if three people have gone to the loo or marched out defiantly against the authorities.
-
It says much about them when visitors feel the need to bring their own tablecloth.
-
It is a division devoid of quality - you look around at the other clubs and wonder how pompey have managed to stay there as long as they have while ******ing money down the drain. Fair play to them. For Cook to take the resources available to him and create the results he has, makes him quite special.
-
Yeah, silly me.
-
I've assumed they will get promoted for the last three years, it makes it so much funnier when they don't. When they probably rip up the division this season we'll have to put up with the return of the likes of the Ho, and my neighbour who has now been hiding across the road for six years. No doubt they will be on the way back to the Premier League and we'll have to write from history the hilarious home defeats, the non-sell-outs and the booing, it'll be branded the bestest promotion ever - but at least we'll get the new treat of them struggling in League One. Every cloud... Are they still pretending they are fan-owned?
-
I've just had a pompey fan laughing at me because they've sold more season tickets than we have. And it's that type of portsmyth that keeps this thread ticking along.

That boy band isn't going to be troubling the charts anytime soon.
-
and after the bonding fry-up they could then be filmed by local news, jogging along the foreshore pretending to prepare for a giant-killing cup tie in 1972. It would be like real football.
-
If I was looking to win promotion I would put out the strongest team and attempt to destroy the opposition in these friendlies - for at least the first half. What are they going to learn from tinkering about and losing at Sutton?
-
dial up pompey, pompey dial up!

There is a difference between a professional football club and a football club that happens to be professional. Evidence suggests they are the latter.
-
I blame the TV people. They keep showing games with crowds in them, and sometime soon one of the faithful is going to put two and two together and realise that their own atmosphere, against Cheltenham or Crawley, doesn't actually compare that well to proper big boy football.

How many owners get their names sung at every home game?! Top man.
