Putting our own attacking issues aside, I'm not convinced about Spurs - they have been carried by one man. If you want to talk about pressure, if they lose to us and Man City their season is absolutely fecked! (like it isn't already! - Sherwood could have done what Poch has)
-
More like come to pompey, we know a bloke who owns a field.

That is Nutjob level research! If it wasn't for the complex use of Ray Hiron's name I would suggest that it was by a graduate of this thread. Good work - another portsmyth Bury-ed.

The Championship will go down to the last ten minutes of the season, I think Bournemouth need to win all three. Someone could miss out on automatic by goal difference and get wiped out in the play-offs. There will be tears... Hull's run-in looks horrendous, Sunderland could get caught out, but if anyone can cobble half a run together they can escape. I'd like to see Redknapp's fine work relegate another club, just to bang the final nail in his CV.

150 @ 20p in the £ = 30. 1% of 30 = less than one genuine applicant.

So from those comments, the masterplan is that a business with a turnover of £6M, that can't currently fill the ground, should spend £10M on increasing capacity to provide 7,000 additional seats that will remain unsold... This money could apparently be loaned to them by the Football League. Their 10% of sensible fans must despair when the nutters start typing or talking. They need to do some sort of basic business training down there, it's like Stevie Wonder gobbing off about your wallpaper choice. You can understand why the directors don't listen to the fans, most of them are absolutely clueless about any subjects other than flytipping from a moving Transit, how to clean your tooth, or the best way to cook a hedgehog. Alan Knight - yeah, that would be progress!

For me that was the moment. Their comeback was completely predictable as the game wore on, and it became apparent that we were going down. I was in the Northam and all of the goals happened right in front of me. I recall the winner was a lottery of a shot that went through a forest of legs and deserved to win nothing. Happy days.

Phase two is to lay out a tarpaulin in the car park so that passing air passengers think they have a pool. If my club was doing that badly I think I might just button it and suffer in silence, that approach has more dignity and makes you look like you don't have mental issues. But without that delusion this thread would burn out.

There's panic on the streets of Dortmund, Barcelona and Milan....the biggest job in world football is up for grabs. Awford had to go because the football that pompey constantly play says nothing to me about my life.
-
I think that article translates as Phil Brown's agent makes a few calls after spotting a club with a history of paying over-the-top wages....either to get him a payrise, to give the impression that he is in demand, or just to remind proper clubs that his client exists.

Nice idea - why waste money on one manager when you can pay loads for two! That dream team of Coppell and Barker worked a treat. I suspect the flaw in this idea of a big name appointment (to sell season tickets) is that big names tend to be used to coaching quality players, and not in a public park with a nice fence. They also like to be paid. And they don't like being abused by a ragtag mob of toothless simpletons in a shed that displays all the high-tech features of 17th century architecture, design, and fat dispersal. Other than those minor points, some new hero will jump at the chance. The acid test will be if Harry wants no part of it - that would confirm that the coffers are empty. The bottom line is that they have fallen too far to attract quality, or investment. A giant gets to a point where he is no longer just sleepy, he has no quality of life and needs to be put out of his misery.
-
I heard a rumour a few weeks ago that there is a deal already done with Gary Johnson to take over in the summer... But if Pellegrini or David Moyes become available in the meantime no doubt the sleepiest giant in world sport will pounce! That's of course if the job isn't too big for them. What with their history. Their fanbase. And all that. Good times for pompey, less of a sacking, more of a giant step back towards the Premier League. Where they don't want to be. Because League Two is proper football. Makes me jealous.

Andy Awford is considering a shake-up after the Morecambe disappointment. Not quite what he had in mind! I four one would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his fine work in returning pompey to where they belong.

Village People have let themselves go. But nice to see that their tour of bus shelters is still drawing crowds.

No disrespect intended! Every club is in their specific division on merit, we were playing in League One because that was our level. But some clubs think they are not only bigger than their division, with a divine right to beat 'smaller' clubs, but they also bang on with the deluded notion that they have the best fanbase in world football. When all of that smug arrogance is buried by a club fairly new to league football, it makes it even funnier.

Morecambe!

I'm quite happy to see them doing well - imagine how Bournemouth's success must be hurting pompey!

Does anyone seriously think that Poch has met his targets? His sole task was to improve on the last sacked bloke - top four minimum, ideally at the expense of Arsenal, perhaps with a good Europa League run... How's that going for him? Ditto Liverpool. Their target was to win the Premier League - and to make good progress in the Champions' League. Put aside our disappointment at missing Champions' League - both of those clubs are staring down the barrel of disastrous seasons where they have lurched backwards.

Congratulations to the Property Developing Trust on their second birthday, League Two's youngest club has been a roaring success. After a wobbly first season they have now found stability in midtable, the new car park looks sensational, described by many as the best piece of tarmac outside the Championship, and the fencing at the training complex is the envy of many Premier League clubs. With a few games to go they could even improve on last season and record their highest ever league finish, the future looks bright, they look all set for a big promotion push in the next campaign. Anyday now we will hear talk of warchests, battling troops turning Fratton into a fortress and other stirring stuff that is annually spun to distract from reality and extract season ticket money from easily-led simpletons. But I'm not having a pop, they have done so well that not a single shareholder has cashed in their investment, and that tells you how well the club must be doing. We just wait now for the summer holiday that doesn't cost the club a penny - and the sale of Wallace who will immediately go from the club's finest asset to a flawed bit part player who won't be missed. It's been an incredible two year journey for everyone's second favourite club, the south coast minnows have come a long way in a short space of time. It's funny to think that barely two years ago they were facing a season in the bottom tier with a crumbling ground, now look where they are! On day one they were favourites for promotion and were going to rip up League Two. Well they are still favourites for promotion next season - and that achievement is down to the passion of the faithful who have shown unwavering support for property developing and supermarket construction in Fratton. Shrewsbury might be going up, but do they have a nice car park? I don't think so! Bigger clubs like Burton may well be playing amid the dizzy heights of League One next season, but visiting fans will scoff at the lack of access to a big supermarket, and do Wycombe have chainlink fencing all the way around their local park?... Much has been achieved in the first two years. The PDT - blazing a trail for football to enviously follow since 2013.

£12? If they want to tell me the true story they'll understand why I'll give them 3p to hear it.

Talking to a pompey fan who described Wallace as a headless chicken. He says he's hyped as an all-action hero when the truth is probably more like him being caught out of position so often that he has to charge about trying to recover. But in the land of League Two the man who can trap a bag of cement is king.
-
He took a hit like the rest of that team and was treated like a criminal until he agreed a paycut. But let's not let the truth get in the way of a good rewrite of history! He's up there with Kanu - a hero when it suits, but a bloke who was denied his wages and treated with disdain until he agreed to being robbed - at least twice. Yes, let's celebrate a draw!! #strawclutching
-
They didn't love him enough to pay him!

So, MOTD say we played well and the fans say we were ****e...

Exactly. Possession, flair, solid defence - but at the moment, little cutting edge or goal threat. We have come a long way in a short time, it's been an incredible journey and some more striking options could lift us to the next level. But did anyone believe that we can realistically compete with the squad depth of the top four over 38 games? -
