  1. Even Rickie has started to slip in 'it's as simple as that' in his interviews.
  2. If we remember my vote on here a while ago, it is all very well saying which one we prefer, when in fact the votes were pretty much split 50/50. For every person (me) who thinks we should keep the sash there is a person who thinks we should being back the stripes. Conclusion: We can only please half of the fans (assuming this board is reflective of fans as a whole).
  3. Because you stated that the options were either that AL and AOC were fit, or that the management at the club have made a 'significant mis-calculation (sic)'. The lack of rumours would then back up a critical view of said miscalculation by using the modifier 'even'. HTH
  4. It just shows how much the club means to him if he will pay to watch a match, despite all the abuse he has received. Fair play.
  5. Oli?
  6. i agree completely. admittedly i've only seen him once in the flesh, and it was last season, but he is a fantastic passer of the ball.
  7. St Pauli know a thing or two about away support...
  8. what are you talking about? it was announced that both Mercedes and Skacel would sign for the start of next season
  9. you know how footballers nowadays seem a bit more like mercenaries, there aren't any MLT types etc. why don't we let the players decide which kit they want to wear? after all, THEY are southampton fc...
  10. but we could end up looking like Sunderland mk.II
  11. sash or no sash, i just hope we have something distinctive. i don't want to look like stoke or sunderland.
  12. You're right, but if they won't sell him there isn't much we can do. Ambition is good, but if we can't actually get the player in then you could argue it is damaging.
  13. I'll take a PM!
  14. Saw him play for Reading in the final game of last year's season and was very impressed. Excellent passer.
  15. we'll revisit this after we've played our games in hand, i'm looking forward to it!
  16. To be fair, it is about results.
  17. Why does this issue affects my experience on a matchday, or Rickie's fitness, or the chances I'll see some nice football and hopefully a win? We support Southampton FOOTBALL Club. The football, then, should take up the vast majority of the posts on this forum because that is what we're (supposedly) interested in. Actually if you look at it there is far more coverage of the business operations and tit-for-tat rumours. What is the point?! I said it once before and I'll say it again... every Saints fan should watch this- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKJSDCcp6kE When Laporta and his crew took over Barca, there were factions trying to oust them out as they were changing the culture of the club, turning it into a professional outfit rather than something to be exploited.
  18. As an aside, is hatred of Cortese (for some) due to his banking background? It seems to me that the posters who hated Lowe for being a toff now also hate Cortese, when really they have very little in common.
  19. Very true, i wasn't actually referring to you in particular. To me it seems odd to treat each incident as isolated, because that isn't actually how things are run. Each decision is dependent on a number of factors, so to take ANY decision made by the club out of its overall context (or without knowing the context) is simplistic at best.
  20. Does anybody else find it incredibly amusing that posters declare they support the good and criticize the bad, when the vast majority on here would fail miserably as the chairman of a professional football club?
  21. forget that, let's set up an anti-paedo defence league
