It certainly wasnt an asset strip but lets be honest, anyone that wasnt concerned with what transpired in the early summer was either mental or lying

When your face, or style ...doesn't fit the formation...

Good post David. How do you avoid it ? By having a set out club way of playing, targets identified and sanctioned within a committee and managers that dont hold all the power in the buying a formation department. -
Exactly this MLG you are wrong

Then I think you have completely missed the point

Yeah we had people like that, the older guys used to withold the fault location knowledge or specifically how to use the equipment. I can understand, in a way, why, as it brought in extra overtime and call outs. In the end I got of my ass and taught myself. Much to their surprise. Im a 132kV SAP HV engineer myself. The energy industry is currently on its backside IMO with a ageing workforce very much retiring and taking much of the knowledge with them. Im trying my best to pick up everything I can but I am more than happy to train anyone that needs it, not a fan of the withhold knowledge at all costs approach. Ill move on one day perhaps. It irks that they are happy to pay £200 an hour to a contractor that on more than one occassion has asked me to do some testing, or teach him how to do it. Especially when they claim they are unable to pay me any more. Nice to know its more than just my industry that seems to be infected by a disease within which they make themselves dependable on contractors paid vastly more then its own staff. All the time dissolving their own workbases technical knowledge. All IMO of course

Where has anyone said it does ?

Nah Disagree bear, ok he didnt have a lot around him but he had enough, he could have atleast made life more difficult on the CBs and gave us someone to hold it up better upfront. Too often we looked to get the ball forward to relieve pressure only for it to come straight back, he was poor yesterday
-
More or less agree except you've missed out big vic who gets a 9 in my book, works so well with Morgan, reads the danger, is imposing as always and strolls around midfield in complete control. Pacey for a big bloke too. Also there is no way Pelle deserves an 8, he gets a 7 maxium. Was pretty dire yesterday and if he could hold the ball up it would have made life a lot easier. Granted he gets fouled a lot. Was poor in the air aswell yesterday.

The pochettino bit made sense, we have not changed much, a few changes but nothing serious in reality. We tend to press only when they encroach the half way line as opposed to a high press, and there is less reliance on keeping the ball and the players are allowed a bit more freedom in possession then the rigidity that there was under poch. This isnt a surprise, most of us acknowledged it wouldnt change much, what Koeman has added has improved us but its subtle. There is a way we play at Southampton from youth to the senior team. That will be that way no matter who is installed as in reality that consistancy is key. The fonte league one stuff was just complete ******** though

Ive been offered double and almost triple salary, Im still in my original job as I prefer the conditions If money is everything I feel sorry for them
-
Well, we did much better than I anticipated, even when it seemed (burnley) things had got too much for us from a tired legs point of view. Its basically in our hands now. A few tricky fixtures to negotiate but no major fixture problems from a grouped difficult games POV Some of the teams lower down may now be fighting harder, but realistically they may open up more and then effectively play into our hands. Am I allowed to get excited now ?

We dont really need another CB tbh, we have four adequate ones, perhaps we could get a loan in for a few months but Yoshi is back soon so whats the point ? Im sure there is a youth player that could step up. Or Big Vic at the back. No point buying another as it causes issues when all are fit. If we are to spend now then we need a dependable striker, thats about it. As Bear said, any spare money try and tie down the stars, or more importantly get Ryan and Toby signed permanently

I dont know, I dont think he is that sorta bloke but its Barca Hopefully they sack someone now and get De Boer in, if they put in a temporary manager ill get worried
-
To anyone else ?! I dont think so, but the barca job is the big one out there, and he has catalan in his heart from his time there If offered, he'll go, and I wouldnt blame him
-
Bit of both, perhaps, hard to judge though as often everything feels fine, if you go just too far then the scar tissue gives way as its more brittle then normal muscle, IE it doesnt stretch
-
Takes a while to get over hamstring injuries, you need to get rid of the scar tissue or else it will just tear when you stretch too far. Shame, he could play in 2-4 weeks probably, 3-6 to be completely sure IMO

How can anyone vote for Pellè after today ???
-
Ive never been so completely happy to say I am wrong In a time that looked bleak the board have done what I think they couldnt to steer us out of the choppy waters, they have done brilliantly and Im so ****ing proud to be a saints fan Sorry to the board for doubting you, and Im giving some money to the saints foundation to apologise

Excellent defensive display

Losing patience with Pellè and his composure
-
As its not being held upfront

Koeman noticed the room Blind was getting, got Reed on. We need to stop them getting crosses in, one will find its mark
