I agree here Adrian, plus this year was a bumper TV deal year, hence why we arent the only ones splashing the cash. -
Financial Fair Play (SSN Transfer Centre)
Smirking_Saint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
You get 52m over income that you are able to spend on wages, it goes up by around 5 mil a season and can be offset by sponsorship and equity transfers etc etc which is why Utd etc signed 400m deals with their sponsors. Dont qoute me on that but its basically it I think. So yeah, Gold probably has a point but I just dont know, Id hazard a guess Carroll, Nolan, Downing are on a lot a week. This shows the importance of getting the right players in. And I am happy with what we have done this window. -
I wonder how many times thats been said this window
-
Options I suppose, Lambert can play up top or No 10, Ramirez wide or No 10. I even think we will see the best of Ramirez with this signing
-
He isnt really a lead the line man though, quality poacher nonetheless. Interesting to see what they do after Bale

Cheers for the info, hopefully it doesnt put you or your contacts in awkward positions but cheers nonetheless. Good luck in your coaching career BTW, I sort of wish I kept mine up now.

I cant say Im eternally greatful TBH, he is a likeable bloke thats gone through a lot but ultimately is a striker, here for half a season, paid hansomely (part of the reason he has not gone) and even said we were a stepping stone when he first joined. Now, I genuinely wish him all the best in the future but I dont get the almost hero worship TBH
-
None of us are all that bothered TBH Art, if he was that good then someone woukd have snapped him up by now. Ironic that he wanted to use us as a 'stepping stone'
-
Nice of you to come along after TheVman and Monk have said their bit.
-
He would certainly be a signing Id be interested in, or even Ince. Isgrove is a good little winger though, keep an eye on him. CB, I dont think we are desperate, but yeah it would put my mind at rest. I like Lovren snd Yoshi but if you get anywhere near fielding Jos again we might be in trouble.
-
Good player, his versatility could be his downfall but I think he will be a CB Captain ? I dont know, but thats a different question altogether some people are not made to be captains.
-
I said earlier why I dont get the constant criticism of 'arry on here, its cringey and obsessive TBH. As per what he has do e at QPR I think he has done very well, building a team of players that clearly want to prove themselves and want to play in a campaign where they are surely headed for the prem again. He has stripped high earners and gambles such as Cisse, Bosingwa, Remy, Taraabt, Granero, Samba and replaced them with very very good options. I suggest that if you hadnt done the same in his shoes you would be in serious trouble TBH. As per youth, they have only just invested in the academy etc, they just have not the players to bring through so they need to get quality and experience in to compete. If it was not Harry I expect people would be talking about what a decent rebuilding effort he has done but obviously it is happy and so it all goes down to greed etc
-
Id definately like a further AM option in there (we seem to play with a compact 3 with width coming from the fullbacks) but I homestly think if we dont we are ok. We have JWP, Davis, Ramirez, Lallana, J Rod, Punch and the new nippy youngster who's name avoids me at the moment (Ive been raving about him too, begins with I I think) Id still like another one in there but its just greed TBH

Hodgson eyeing up other Saints players...
Smirking_Saint replied to skintsaint's topic in The Saints
Lack of quality in midfield ? Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick of the old guard, then you have Wilshere, Rodwell, Cleverley, Cork probably, Shelvey if he keeps up the momentum he has found at Swansea. You then have many a young CM coming through, JWP is in that list, he reminds me of Wilshere, Tom Carroll, Barkley, sure there is a few more that I havn't thought of. I definately disagree that CM is an area of weakness. Its upfront or CB really. Welbeck and Sturridge are good options, except everyone dismisses them (Welbeck has 6 in 7 games I think). Carroll isnt that bad, J Rod maybe but at youth level we struggle. Kane is the only one that really impresses me. As for Saints itll be interesting moving forward, now we play a similar formation to England and potentially have 3-4 players to puck from we move into the category selectors and coaches look at to pick players. And that is because you need players used to each other etc. Shaw has Baines and Cole ahead of him, Clynes job is arguably harder as Walker is better and almost the same age and Johnson is, despite ignorance again, a decent player (I suggest you watch him or even look at stats, also Eng player of tourny at Euros) I agree the two likely call ups are Lambert or Cork, I honestly think Cork offers something, similarish player to Carrick in the fact he intercepts and dictates from deep. Also would release Gerrard to get involved further up as he was clearly our best midfielder/player Wednesday though was curtailed by marshalling a defence behind two forward thinking CMs. -
Same as Welbeck, Downing and Shelvey ? Oh and Sturridge ?
-
Surprised your not on his back already TBH

And what did Redknapp get? Answers below...

It is cringey how Saints fans are so obsessed TBH -
