As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
Smirking_Saint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Exactly, incredible player. I see what he is saying, he certainly 'benefitted' from Chelsea building a team around him but then if you took Messi out of Barca he would be No.2 in the world IMO Basically, certain players are deployed certain ways, and in what Lampard is asked to do, he is great at it. This is also why Gerrard should have won the battle of the England midfield OR England should have changed tactics to suit -

Seen a lot of JWP and I really like him, he, Kane and Barkley (and the CB, foreign name) all inpressed me in the U21s as much as any of them could. He plays with a maturity above his age, is busy, wants the ball. I said before he reminds me a lot of Lampard/Wilshere when they came on the scene. He doesnt have the physical presence yet for an out n out CM yet I dont think. But I think he could be a very good player and should get time this year. Isgrove N Chambers impress me too but not seen as much of them. As per our Midfield Vs UTDs ? I prefer theirs. Morgs coukd probably get into most teams TBH but both cleverley and Carrick have been underrated here. Lampard ? Im not going to start here, he isnt Gerrard but he is v v good. -
What did the band say ?

Rickie Lambert called up for England
Smirking_Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in Golden Posts
He is defending his position thats all really, outside the Saints fishbowl it probably seems a strange one -
Cant see someone like Stoch fitting regularly into the forward tactics that we seem to want to play, obviously would be a very good option though. I have seen a biy of Isgrove, and heard reports that he is looking good. Have you seen anything of him to suggest possible pedigree ?

You cheeky chappy !! No I am genuinely happy for the guy, I did say in the latest round of threads on the subject if he was ever to get a call up it would be now. You know my thoughts on his inclusion etc so Im not going to comment, plus in this instance there was nobody else. Dissapointed Cork didnt get the nod mind. But anyway, V well done Rickie -
It is worse in the closed season TBF Its not difficult to see the real tedious WUMs. As much as I think Dune can go into troll mode he does speak relevant stuff from time to time, Unbelievable Jeff seems ok, Dalek is pretty harmless, Turks just highlights some of the idiocy on here, hell even alpine can speak sense, he just cant actually debate and bangs the same drum but they do offer something so I dont have any on ignore There are a couple that think they are amusing (they're not) and add absolutely nothing. Just try not to bite and they'll get bored, its pretty obvious trolling at times.

If this is your way of thinking I think Im going to stop reading any posts by SIP Quite astounding really

Now, I know you get this a lot but WTF are you talking about ART ? Sharp, thats Sharp... Wasnt picked at the start of last season due to him being deemed surplus to requirements. So after that your saying a current player wanted rid of him ?

+1 yo

When you just post things for effect with no regard or want for any form of reasoned debate ? Yeah Id say it was

This, and Clyne FWIW. And Morgan if we can convince him he is English But there are reasons why the top teams (or in reality the teams that have the majority of able English players available) are favoured. Though with so few strikers around at the moment, and a nothing friendly ? Stranger things have happened. Someone mentioned hooper earlier, he probably should have been tried much sooner

It didnt, it was a management decision, one NA was very much a part of

You should have thought about your posting image before you trolled for years on end, its not rocket science. You cant steal the family savings and then moan about being labelled a thief

Who the hell is Sharpe ? Anyway, I personally agree, he definately should be given a chance, everyone should and for that reason I fully expect Forte and Hammond to be in the starting line up come the 17th along with Sharp leading the line. Imagine the technical brilliance of Hammond playing of Sharp the lone front man with his hold up ability, only made better by Forte's direct running and pin point crosses WOW I can only be dissapointed Forcast isnt here to share this wonderful display of sentimentality and justice

There is a difference in defending their view by posting up valid arguements towards them, involving themselves in reasonable debate and seeing both sides to an arguement. And Posting something in order to garner some sort of response, otherwise known as fishing.

Exactly, as much as something should happen in reality. We wont pick a fight of any sort against countries with the clout of Russia or China. We will wait until the winter olympics in Uganda to make our stand

Lots of hypocrisy on here, clear to see who the trolls are. Jeff is trying to argue some points, unfortunately bud the trolls have already beaten the backdoors out of any arguement in this arena. -
Im glad I wasnt the only one who had to bite my tongue here bear, so for goodness sake, bite your tongue and stop poking around those rings. Just think, what woukd Daley do ?

Not again.....

Ive said it before and Ill say it again, Im not overly worried by our TW forays so far, there is time left and realistically big deals take a while to get over the line. We have strengthened two areas I wanted sorting and provided reasonable back up at FB and out wide from the academy. We will finish mid tableish IMO but with a decent striker we have a chance of climbing that little bit higher, Im all for getting the best possible man for the job, but we have been a victim of outstretching ourselves over the past two years, and as much as Im confident we will be ok the fact our main targets have turned us down is worrying. -
Exactly, for this we need to be forking out 14m for Rhodes..........
