Antonio - Will he be a saint next season..?
Smirking_Saint replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
As he is under 24, if Reading offered him a new contract we would be bound to offer him a contract of equal or increased terms in order for it to have a chance to go through. I would imagine we would do that, and therefore it would be his choice were he would go. Personally, i wouldn't break the bank on him, but i think he has potential. -
Not played this for ages, at least a whole season, i only came back as i had a message saying that i was going to lose my team. Anywho, i finished 3rd again but have struggled to get out of this league, was 2nd the year before, and 1st before that so 3rd not too bad considering i havn't bothered to log in for ages, though it is obvious i am going backwards. I am in league VI.540 BTW Any tips ? Going to do my best to buy some players ready for this league now, a new winger, new inner midfielder and new wing back to complement what i have already.

Even if reading do want him back i can't see him being a starter, both Kebe and Mcanuff are better than he is and TBF i think he would struggle to make the step up to the NPC at this time. He has poential though, whether that potential is fulfilled is another matter. Personally, i think he will get more game time for us ATM. -
The celtic job and rangers job, these days are no more than a managerial death sentance. The fact that they both only really compete with each other and are expected to win every concievable competition (bar Europe) in order to keep the fan base happy, on top of that they also need to beat each other, whom they play about 4 times a year. Honestly, Cletic and Rangers would never be an attraction to me if i was in Pardews position, and even Lamberts position. The SPL these days is a joke, they would be better off combining the SPL, welsh and irish leagues to make it more competetive. (they are not welcome in the english leagues )

fair enough. Football is certainly an opinion divider. -
Well sounds a resounding no then !! As much as i hate smokers, and rejoiced when the smoking ban came in and was astounded when all of the smokers believed that the non smokers should be the ones that left the pub/restaurant !! You can't ban smokers from NHS treatment, thats just mental and could open a whole can of worms. For example. "i am sorry sir, we cannot treat you for that inury, it was your fault for doing the hoovering naked' :smt102

I really can't see that happening. Sorry clarky, but i think you have massively over rated him there, if i had to pick a 442 team, he would not be in it. His crossing isn't great, he is inconsistant and sometimes he struggles to beat his man. On the plus side, he is quick, strong and works hard, but lacks a footballing brain atm, tactically he gets it wrong at times and is technically not great. -
It is another reason why political correctness or more importantly f*cking human rights need to be seriously looked at. These sort of individuals (and i'm talking about the terrorists) must be laughing that they can do anything they wish when persuing the worst attrocities possible in order to carry out their Jihad, and then hide behind the western countries legislation whenever they have been found out. This is a personal example within which you lose your human rights (to an extent) when you have been found to have been doing what they are doing, do we really think these guys will abide by the rulings laid down by the Geneva convention ?? It is a hard concept i know, as i am not asking for barbarity, however unless we respond to these people then it will never stop.

It was intended to be premature, it is not relying on the current situation. All i was saying was, put this squad up against a championship line up and how would they fair ?? Nice to see peoples ideas, currently i feel we are very nearly ready for it.
-
Always a dangerous road to go on, will you give it up again ?? Another way to look at it though is, if you can give it up through this, you can give it up anytime ?? That being said, i go away a lot through work, and yes the company picks up the bill, which basically means 3 courses with steak and beer !!

Hows it going ?? Few days left now ?? I have found green tea works wonders for weight loss, for some strange reason, and is manageable if you drink it with a sweetener. Nice to see that after these 40 days off the beer your going to fully put it back on again in the 3 day inclusive break

Agreed, It seems Semi used to put in similar performances for Norwich and that is what we heard from them when he signed for us. I honestly don't think he has it in him to make the improvements needed in his game. i.e effective challenging and not bottling a challenge. More worrying is the fact that Yoevil are quite useful down their left side and so if Semi provides us with another weak defensive performance we could be caught out.

Glad you have finally come to that realisation. I really can't wait for Pompey to go bust and to lose the final so Ho would sod off again. Also how can you sit here and pick up on peoples points that are slightly wrong when you fed us a load of Guff at the start of the season. Anyways, glad to see Maradonna and Riquelme are doing well for you.

I think most are talking about the way that he has a raw potential and could develop into a good little player. Not in the fact that he is a similar player, although, tbf to Kenwyne he has decent pace and a lot of power, but yes, arially he is a bit of a monster. Burley was right at the time, he was probably one of our top 3 players, along with Bale. And these were the two that Derby purposely went out to kick out of the game, for this reason i will always detest Davies and Derby for what was nothing more than a completely unsporting performance. Jones however is a good player, he is essentially a poor mans Drogba and i would argue he would probably go to a half decent team in the summer if Sunderland continue to struggle. -
Maslow can f*ck off and take his pyramid with him

Probably that Tw*t that gets married for a magazine column ??

C*nts This sort of thing happens all the time, and have heard of a couple of bodies being found at sites around the south, luckily i have not seen one directly, the pictures are horrific enough. A 66Kv shock though, jesus he got away with that one. Coincedentaly, some copper earths were 'tampered' with the other day at one site, and some taken, and in a completely unrelated injury someone ended up in Portsmouth hospital with severe burns and a hole in his foot, presumably were the electricity escaped. But it was obviously caused by a BBQ incedent !! Anyways Swanny, as much as the b*stard deserved what he got, these people put my life at risk when i enter a Sub that has had the earths removed. C*nts

.... What changes if any should we make to the team ?? Who do we feel can cope with the league and who cannot ?? It is a difficult question when you put into perspective the different seasons that both Leicster and peterborough have had, Mclean and Boyd were dominant in league one but a lot less so this year. Personally, i think that we are all but ready to take on the championship, but with the inclusion of a few quality signings here and there to give us the extra talent required. Kelvin New RB Fonte Jaidi (with a new CB) Harding Puncheon Hammond Morgan Lallana Lambert Barnard (New CF) I think Jaidi can just cut it in the champ, but he won't make every game and so a decent new CB would be ideal, i have heard a rumour of E.Ward being signed on a pre contract. Clyne (RB) ? Matt Mills ?? Baptiste ? Definately need a new midfielder, i am still unconvinced that Hammond could make the step up, but he is moving back to his best so i would imagine he could cope, regardless a new midfielder to shake up this compfy partnership is a must. Ledley ?? Garvan ?? Sigurdsson ? harper ? As much as i think Barnard CDAJ, a new proven goal scorer at this level would be ideal and could really set alight the championship with our creativity. Chopra ?? Sharp ? Matty Paterson ? They are my musts, also if we picked up the like of Ambrose or whittingham from the financially struggling Palace and Cardiff would be fantastic.

I am happy to be proven wrong once in a while. I think he still seems a little inconsistant at times but has definately came on leaps since i first saw him play in his first few games. He has the raw aspects you want in a player, pace and power, he has an eye for goal and works hard, he still has a lot to learn however but i can definately see the potential a la the 'c*nt that went on strike' mould. Was KJ not a midfielder when he came here ?? If we get him on a free i would definately sign him up -
