I completely agree with these 3 qoutes. We definately have played better in the 4-5-1 formation and have controlled games, it is a shame for Barnard and even connelly, but thats the way it is, no time for sentiment. And that leads me on to Surman, it would NOT be sentiment, he was a great, committed little player at CCC level and flexible to boot. He did have fitness issues but this can be worked on, look at Rickie !! He could definately do a job at league 1 and is probably a better player than Hammond TBH. I do wonder with some people at times, some of you do realise we are still in league one don't you ?:confused:? For this level Surman is more than we need.

I do to, Weirdly i had similar thoughts to colbury, lately there seems to be many many knee injuries. Growing up you never really heard of knee injuries like you do now and they seem to be so much more common. I know loads of people that have done it, in my football team this season alone there was 3 serious knee injuries this year, two ACL, one cartialage. I re-snapped mine last year and i know of 3 other people that have done it. Also a guy i do my degree with, there are only 9 of us, and he has snapped his ACL as well. Must be something in the water ?? My consultant/Surgeon was Mr Fox and Mr Hartwright BTW, Mr Fox will no doubt carry out the op again.

We have been crying out for another decent CM, he certainly meets that criteria. He is a saint and will fight for the shirt and fight to restore his name.

Why ?? He is a good passer of the ball, versatile and always put the effort in. He always looked good for me, even last year when the whole team went backwards he still looked better than the rest. He would be a first 11 player IMO. And as you say, he is a saint.

This, added to the fact that he has had effectively a season out of football, the boy will be gunning to make a name for himself again, he will have fire and graft. Added to the fact that he is saints through and through ! We have been crying out for a decent CM, and now one is presented(ish) people are saying it is a step back ?? No, no its not. IMO he is arguably a better footballer than Hammond, and will hopefully have renewed drive and ambition. The mental issue will be long gone, he will fit back in quickly, the losing mentality is a locker room thing, and once quelled (as it is) the players will lift any doubts he has.

Surman would be a great little coup for us TBH, i would love to see him back here, and after a season of nothing at Wolves i am sure he would welcome a return with fire in his belly. I think a lot of that is to do with flash diets etc. regular exercise and eating right is different i believe.

If he is at this tournament i would argue that his pedigree is already common(ish) knowledge and so he is being looked at. I do half agree though, i'd hate to see him leave

Was talking to my reading supporting mate on this, i don't mean to be an MLG on this but he was actually released by reading i believe, he was on loan at Sheffield (thats what he said anyways) - My bad, he transfered in January til the end of the season, source - Wiki He doesn't think he is much better than we have already, i was of the opinion he was pretty good but he seems to think he isn't a tackler but is a leader. Make of that as you will, TBH, if he came here i would actually be quite impressed, mates opinion not withstanding. I honestly think that this year we are in an opinion to get some of the talented freebies, unlike other seasons when we watched the decent free players get snapped up by other teams.
