The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread
Smirking_Saint replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
We need a decent CM that provides competition to Morgan and Deano. We need to turf Wooden out. We need a decent RB Sign Papa, perhaps sign Antonio if we get him cheap and on low wages but he is still far too inconsitant (as last night showed apparantly) -
I guess people are crawling up the walls after last night. Not the best result we could have dreamed for, especially those of us still clamouring for the playoffs (which TBH were probably a little out of reach). Well done to the lads for making a come back.....twice...... though we should never have been in that position. We need to improve for next season, and IMO Wotton needs to go, he is such a negative addition to our first 11 that actually drags the forward momentum down. Mr Pardew, lets start preparing for next year and get the consitency we need for promotion.

Not drunk yet Dune ??
-
Lol, good start then
-
My point exactly. Now compare those 3 CB's against prem standard CB's. He would need to improve
-
It's a long way off, he perhaps could do a job in the Premiership but it is too early to tell really. The more i see him the more i think he has been underated, however i think Pards has managed to get a bit more out of him by slimming him down. Personally, like is said previously, i think he would be out played by premier league CB's, he is not quite there yet, his movement is not top level quality and at times as i said he is out headed by bigger, experianced center halves, for example i wouldn't give him much chance against Jardi and Fonte. If he were to go into the prem it would be for a team at the lower end of the table, perhaps Hull etc, Stoke might take him on mind.
-
Quality game. Well done to arsenal coming back, would have loved to have seen them get actually stuffed though...... with the exception of Theo
-
spot on. I would even argue league 1 to CCC is as bigger gulf as non league to league 1. And CCC to prem even larger.
-
Cardiff Ledley Chopra McCormack Whittingham Crystal Palace FC Speroni Clyne Danns Ambrose Also, if Charlton fail to make the CCC i think they may fall further in the poo, in which case i would nab Racon Shelvey Sam And whilst we are at it what about a cheeky bid for Sigurdsson at reading ??

I wasn't really having a pop but this is seriously a rediculous thing to say. Football is all about proving your level, step by step in most cases, unless a big team comes and takes a punt on you. It is also all about opinions however the main premise and theories remain the same. Rickie has banged a lot of goals in this season and has looked good, however, there have been times this season when he has been completely none existant in his attack, that happens when he comes across taller more experienced CB's for this league, this is the first case of why he would not cut it at international level, most international CB's would **** all over him. He has also scored a fair amount of his goals from free kicks and penalties, and i am sure he wouldn't really get a look in for these. He has a decent amount of composure, but no pace, something that is seriously needed at the top level. All of the current crop of english target men have more pace than poor rickie. He can score goals, yes he can, but so can Beckford, Austin and so many other players, would Le fondre do ?? Christ, i had a season where i scored 46 in 16, does it mean that i could score in any league ?? No, it meant i had not found my level. Whatever you say a striker will only score goals in relation to his opposition and oppurtunities, he has not got the movement nor pace for a top level striker and i believe top level CB's would out head him all game long. We have much better options, and you have my answers. Also, Bent as a target man ?? Are you mental ?? I wish you luck with your coaching, i really do, i used to do a bit of work for saints in the community and they wanted me to go on further, i thought about it, but you are never going to change english footballs philosophy, Brazil works because of their philosophy, and the way they coach. Holland creates so many techincally gifted players because of their coaching techniques (which was the way i tried to coach but not how the community coaches wanted). In one breath you can argue you perhaps have more of an insight into the game than me, on another you create this arguement about Lambert and it doesn't add up, i can almost see the points you are trying to make, but it will never happen at this level.
-
Tac-tics, No disrespect But considering he would even be scouted for england ??? I worry that you are a coach.
-
As much as i have a deep hatred for manure, they also play the best football in the land and SAF will allways go for the win. For that reason i want them to win. Besides, it is their fans i hate more than anything.

We can argue till the cows come home, was it the players ?? Or was it the comments ?? I really don't care, but something worked. NC made his comments and it was completely blown out of proportion by some on this forum and the media. I am not going to slag off a man that has so much genuine ambition for our club, Pardew knows the score and what is needed of him, so do the players and now so do we, it just makes any decisions the man has to make easier as we can see what is coming. I don't think NC was ever considering sacking Pardew, but he has made clear what he wants.
-
It's not, and luckily when they manage to play we play an attractive pass and move football mixed with the long hoof to super RL. Unfortunately take the real central ball player out of the mix (spiderman) and we struggle to find anyone in that department that is able to do it and so our long ball plan B becomes a boring plan A. Also when Wotton fits in and partners schneiderlin it seems to negate MS' game as he is just a hoof merchant too.
-
Lol at this thread
-
He seems very happy here too, i'd sign him, after sundays performance Antonio gets the nod from me, though he seriously needs to sort out his consistency but if we get him on a free he could end up a good player.
-
Cortese is not impatient, not in my eyes. People need to get over his comments, they have been made and we have kicked on and shown a more committed and dangerous form since along with a cup win and beating the top sides, something we HAD NOT MANAGED TO DO all season. Cortese has ambition in abundance, why else would he have purchased a league 1 club in meltdown ?? I went years watching a saints team that never seemed like going forward and when it finally did....slowly we failed to make the purchases our forward momentum needed. NC was right to make his comments, he obviously had a meeting with pards when the extra cash was offered in Jan and our performances dwindled. What would you rather ?? The obscurity of the last regime or the reletive transparancy of this ?? Like many good business managers Cortese decided to give pards and the team a kick up the arse in the hope that heads didn't need to roll, and look, it worked, case closed.
-
Played very well at the weekend imo, still doesn't let the defence settle and has so much pace that scares the hell outta them. Also the ball he played to Lambert that led to the cross that led to the antonio shot that led to the goal...... (breathe lol) Was a fantastic first touch. Will defo do a job next year and could grow even more influential.
-
Were you lot in club wembley seats ?? Remember a guy jumping up and down shouting 'blow the whistle....blow the whistle !' up there and saying he was on for 700 quid Also the three p*ssheads on the way back from London on the 9.35, one of them threw up everywhere but was funny winding them up and their soberish mate trying to look after them.

Saw mark bright, he was lost and we wound him up a bit. He had a rainbow scarf on so don't know who he was supporting.
