Caulker is a right sided center back so appears to be back up for Fonte like Gardos was. Does anyone know if Van Dijk plays on the left Center back?

I'm probably gonna get slated for this. For all of Morgan's qualities, I though he slowed the game down for us, meaning we were sometimes predictable. But it did mean we were very solid because we were playing the ball out of the back and keeping it. It's been the same for the games he played for France. Commentators thought the french play was very slow, without them singleing out a specific player.

Just seen what we will receive for Clyne deal up front which is in large part because he was entering the last year of his contract. We seem to have signed all of our recent players on 4 year deals (clyne, wanyama, rodriguez, morgan, cedric, Juanmi) which tends to put pressure on us pretty rapidly. Wanyama who has been at the club 2 years now will have one year left on his deal next summer and i can already foresee selling him at a lower price if he doesn t sign a new contract. Other teams don t seem to have this issue as they tend to sign players on 5-6 years contracts (most recently Nexcastle and West Ham). Should we not be doing the same?

I get the impression our 2 main targets are Imbula and Krykowiak as we have made offers for both of them. As for Gueye, we seem to have agreed a price with Lille but don't seem to have completed the deal. Maybe he is a fall back option or we just waiting for Morgan to leave which will probably trigger a move for either Imbula/Krykowiak and Gueye (as we also need to replace Cork but probably couldn't finance it till we receive money for Morgan or Clyne for that matter). Seems to fit in with our 'we only spend within our means policy'. Juanmi and Cedric were probably signings we could afford as they were relatively cheap and we could finance them with our annual TV money revenue. As for Clasie, reports say we haven't made an offer which probably means that we will go for him if we fail to bring in Imbola/Krykowiak who seem to be our number 1 targets.

Ridiculous statement. Imbula is class and an integral part of the team that nearly qualified for Champions league last year. Yes Marseille have their flaws but they are far from the circus team you are describing.

Ospina is a very good keeper, would be a nice stop gap till Frazer comes back and would provide good competition for him when he does return.

Imbula would be a very good signing but he seems expensive, very good at retrieving the ball and playing it out of the defense, a bit like Morgan. Imbula however is not as good as Morgan with his long range passing. Krychowiak too is expensive and would prefer him to Imbula. He was available for peanut (5-6m euros) at the of last season while playing for Reims. Pity we didn t come in for him at that time. Paying 22m euros for him now feels like we are being raped

This guy was a star for Reims in Ligue last season. Would be a fantastic replacement for Morgan and wxactly the sort of player we should be aiming for.

Just saw we have been linked with Idrissa Gueye. This guy is class, can play defensive midfield and also as à box to box midfielder. Bit Like Morgan was not very well Known and does thé tidy word very well. And can also pop up for à few goals. Lille fans are gutted to see Him leave and think hé has to level to play at à big club. They also think 6m euros is derisory price for à player of his level. If we do get him, it could be a very coup.

Right I've compiled the statistics, since the Newcastle game, on minutes Eljero Elia has been on the pitch, we have scored a total of 1 goal! The goal Pelle scored against Hull in 81st minute and Elia was not part of the move that led to the goal. Is that pure coincidence or one of the reasons why our creativity has been **** poor in the second half of the season? Watching him today, doesn't offer any width at all. He's pacey, has some skill on him but i'm not sure if he fits into our style of play. No creativity seems to be coming from him. What are your thoughts? Also, do you think we should sign him in the summer (rumored fee 4m). Not much of a risk but I think we can find better, I don't think it is a case of mainly filling up our squad just because we might be playing more games next year (if we do end up qualifying for the europa league).
