Useless bit of trivia, this was the last final where the Queen presented the cup to the winner, every one since has been another member of the Royal family.

Liverpool posed no real threat at all to Hull. This loss will knock a bit of stuffing out of them and as others have pointed out, our goal difference is not one that will be overturned by either Spurs or Liverpool. Lets hope we have the better of a 4 game shoot out in us - there will be a few odd results in all the remaining games.

From http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/ ... ....Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed he will bring success to Anfield "if I can get the tools" You've already got Lovren, Brendan, he's a tool.

End of season predictor - just for fun
vince replied to Sold To The Man @ The Bar's topic in The Saints
They do, but they also could have the Cup Final "Sponsored By Stevie G's effing Birthday" to worry about, plus extra mid week games due to the Semi final to fit in. We just need Lovern to stay fit........ -
The FA are making a lot about the England DNA and the "golden strand" through the year groups with the "only thing changing is the size of the shirt" with continuity being the key. It's not surprising that they would look at JWP as a strong candidate to progress given that stand point, so I think it's highly likely he will get his chance, and then it will be up to him to take it. Regardless of what most think on here, he does have time on his side.

Following the International break, a tricky away game, but one that needs winning....

Now listen here, Morgan, you join Spurs in the summer and I'll detonate this little fecker. Ponch thinks he's got away with it, but as soon as he sits down in that dugout, BOOM!

Bear, that's pure comedy gold, fella. Once you've seen "Judas C**t" you can't unsee it. Absolute quality.

Better watch his body language closely at the end of season awards as he collects his 5th watch then!!!!

Koeman says Mané was dropped due to discipline
vince replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It's fair enough, but I'd rather the punishment was turn up and "help" train the U8 academy kids for a week, rather than be dropped!!! Pointless fining them, money means nothing and detrimenatal to the seniors team performance today to have to bench him. -
Disappointing as that result was, it's still all there to play for. Liverpool have some tough matches in their next 5 PL fixtures - City (H), Burley (H), Swansea (A), Man U (H), Arsenal (A). Spurs have a much easier set - Man U (A) being the hardest, with Swansea and Leicester at home, QPR and Burley away. Our next five are not so bad, only Chelsea away out of the top 12. It's all if's but's and maybe's, but it certainly not all gone. What a position to be in, given where we were 6 weeks before the season started.

Having now had How Soon Is Now floathing round my head, the lunchtime challange was to rewrite it a bit....I struggled with the last two lines, you have to squeeze it in a bit too much, so suggestions welcome..... You were the son and the heir of a team that would flourish under Koeman You were the son and heir and now, you're nothing in particular You shut your mouth thrown it away You go about things the wrong way We've got Koeman and a European Bus you've got Dejan, head stuck up in his ar$e

Koeman calls on 'a New Order' to join Saints and upset the apple cart

Lets hope its not a Blue Monday after the Liverpool game..... -
I hope those that met up actually enjoyed a sociable pint or two and for all the posturing and quips made, it was worthwhile.

Mane was on a booking and had already made one tackle that he was lucky not to see another one, so perhaps RK thought better of taking the risk of a further rash tackle. Bit of a tough one, as he was looking the most likely but could easily have been gone.

Ask him how pleased he is with the exposure MOTD give him in their intro to every programme, much better than seeing a player who hasn't played all season in last years kit with last years sponsor. Oh, hang on......

He can hit the woodwork as often as he likes, so long as it goes in off!!

A Palace ST holder at work was only offered the choice of blocks 44 and 45 today when he got his away tickets. Not saying that's all they've got, just that's all he could choose from.

I think the best stat is that we are, on average, giving teams 2.8 shots on target every game which shows just how hard they are all working to restrict time and space.

That's great, many thanks.
