For all of the players to go off the boil and players starting who weren't coming off the bench a month ago is down to the manager and trainers. If we don't replace this summer with a pre selected manager/coach then it has to be next year because if Ralph is planning to retire in 2024 we can't go into the last season with a leader that the players know won't be there much longer or for player recruitment even if the club playing strategy is similar. I think that Ralph falls out with players and drops them from the starting eleven for personal reasons rather than footballing reasons, no evidence but a feeling that I have. I don't think that he should personally critise individual players in public like Broja yesterday or question the quality of HIS squad, it's hardly motivational or professional.

It will be interesting to see what points total the 3rd from bottom club gets with Burnley on a good run and Everton will be up for the relegation fight. I reckon that 3rd bottom club could end up with 37 or 38 points.

In the heady days in February when we did so well we had a settled team in 442 formation. Forster Walker Peters / Tino, Benarek, Salisu, Perraud/Walker Peters S Armstrong, Ward Prowse Romeu Mo Adams, Broja Trouble is some (all?) of the players have collectively gone off the boil starting with the Aston Villa match. It was obviously a successful and preferred set up just need to get the players firing again, some how.

I'm glad that we got the extra 3 points from the Arsenal game, can see both Everton and Burnley getting another 9 points each before the end of the season.

They're cutting through us at ease.

1 0 Saints.

With Liverpool getting into the FA Cup final our match with them will have to be moved. Looking at their schedule Wednesday 18th May is a possibility.

Does that mean that we are half as good as Real Madrid?
-
Did we set up differently for this match as we did well against Chelsea, City, Utd and Spurs a few months ago.

Burnley have a relatively easy run in for the last 9 matches including us and Norwich tomorrow, if they win 4 of them!!! I can't see where our next point is coming from.

How can we have gone from an unstoppable well oiled machine 11 days ago to being so disjointed and not flowing now?

Brighton are wearing a yellow and blue kit at home instead of their normal blue and white today.

Yeh we play on the Sunday before and Man C play on the Monday.

Us getting to the quarter final means that the Burnley away match will need to be rescheduled, probably to a midweek match. No midweek match before the quarter final and international break after so can play our strongest 11.

Should have kept a stronger side to keep the momentum and confidence going. IF we lose badly tonight it could knock our confidence and that will hang over for several games in the future. We have had 5 days to recover since Norwich match maybe 3 changes for 'vulnerable' players ahead of the Villa match but no more.

Bielsa sacked according to Fabrizio Romano.

I hope not, IIRC every time our manager has won it we go on a bad run after that. May be just my memory though might not be fact.

My first negative feeling towards Everton was in Nov 1971 when I had been competing in a Southampton cub competition at Shirley Warren School, we had won but when my dad arrived to pick me up he told me we had lost to Everton 8 0 my happiness was soon wiped out.

Exactly this. Man U are due an upturn in form and we have higher expectations. 4 - 1 to Utd to put us back in our place. Hope not obviously. COYS.

Why the EPL schedule a mid week game a few days after a FA cup so that managers have to make such selection choices I really don't know. There are plenty of opportunities in April and May to play mid week when most teams have no cup commitments. But a big mistake not to start with our best players today. with so many changes today I feel that it is unfair to judge Small, better when he comes into a settled first team. poor slow ponderous play for the most part except the first 20 mins of the 2nd half. anyway we are still in the cup COYR.
