  1. Hmmm, what if they get a points deduction after they have managed to relegate themselves? According to our sentence it would carry forward to next season. So a points deduction of Luton town proportions would possibly see the DFCSBs relegated in successive seasons and ending up in L2 for 2012-13. For me that would be almost a fair result. Not quite but almost and possibly enough to see Chinnerrahrahrah putting the business in the Kenwood?
  2. I think that those who are patriotic and fair minded might be placing their faith in the wrong hands should they wish for the EDL to carry out those objectives. Being patriotic and fair minded is one thing. Swelling the pride of patriotism with a large flush of latent racism is a different thing altogether.
  3. The pennies are dropping, and Stanley is slowly revealing the monster.
  4. The initial bit, from Chestnut, was straightened and a Gas pumping station built on the left, near where the religious hall is now. Originally, where you now need to turn right to continue the old Stoneham Lane, there was a caravan site, The new link goes across that site now. thinking back, and I left school in '72, that caravan site was still there and the road to North Stoneham (Chestnut Ave.) was definitely straighter than when I started cycling down there in '66. I'd not bet on it but I'm 99% sure of my memory. Just before the hump by the church there is a 30mph sign. We altered it during an Art 'foray' so that it read 80. It remained like that for many a year! At the back of the Concorde, sandwiched between there and Southampton Rd, Hilliers had a massive orchard. We would scrump apples, pears and cherries from it. That spot is now Lakeside. Why is the area which I grew up in, North Stoneham, The Cricketers, Bird Aviary estate, now referred to as 'Chandler's Ford' in publications like the Echo?
  5. Dark forces? He said in jest. Looking forward to it.
  6. As a teenager I went to school in Swaythling, St. George, which for an Eastleigh boy meant a bike ride along Stoneham Lane with all it's twists, turns, deep puddles, ruts and Hants & Dorset buses almost colliding as they passed each other. It was only in the latter years, about 1970?, that the road between the Concorde Club (then Prices Social Club) and the junction with Chestnut Avenue was 'straightened'. Most winter mornings we would arrive at school, drenched.
  7. Charlie Sale still works there. Lowe's buddy. 'Nuff said.
  8. What was that old saying on the adverts for American Excuse? That'll do nicely sir!
  9. He also had one in Eastleigh, in the parade of shops at the east end of Derby Rd. Gerry Gurr ran it for him at one stage.
  10. This. With absolute confidence. Whever the dark forces are they are trying their dirty best. No style, no substance and even less quality about their mouthpiece, the Daily Heil. Is Charlie Sale still with that rag?
  11. It used to be Frank Saul. http://www.canveyisland.org/page_id__742.aspx
  12. The answer is intriguing to us all, I'm sure. Can they go back into admin or will it be liquidation? If the can go back into admin presumably the way out will be via a C.V.A. Now, don't laugh, will the current creditors get whatever percentage is agreed of their current 20%? 20% of 20% of £2,600 (remember, Chinny paid up all those who were owed £2,500 !) = £104 paid over 5 years?
  13. My mate and I always started off in the Southerners and then, in later days, would walk up to the Warrens. We were in town on a stag night and, well oiled, we visited the Southerners. at the I knocked this lady's arm a couple of times, the second time I apologised and this gruff voice came at me from behind the make-up "That's alright mate", I couldn't get out quick enough and we all hightailed it to the next pub we could find!
  14. Try this: http://www.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&xhr=t&q=Southampton+Football+Club+the+dell&cp=34&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1280&bih=805 There are a few in there, although why New Brompton FC get in there I don't know. Maybe the advertiement for Peach..contractors being the loose link?
  15. Perhaps that may be the truth but it amy also be the cas that the Echo add this when editing? That they may even refuse to remove it? It might pander to Nick's ego, I don't know but to say that Nick calls himself by that title is not necessarily true. P.S. I've left in your bit about Rich Chorley although how it's appeared I do not know!
  16. Once again you are trying to rewrite history or maybe you could show me on that article where it says hat Nick Illingsworth composed, edited and produced that article? Thought not. While being prudent with my 3 posts I'll take this opportunity to reply to CapitalSaint who said CapitalSaint said: Nick's name was used because this thread is actually about Nick AND the club. If you read the thread you'll see one person has stated that Nick helped them when they felt they had a problem with the club. I never quoted you as saying eff you Nick, I said that you had said it in a polite way but I believe that the sentiment is there. I actually said that Nick might say that but I suspect he'd help you. What if it did affect you? What if it was you? Of course one man cannot sway the club, or another single person for that matter but I feel that there are enough voices raising a question about the whole thing and, in an effort to try and at least appear reasonable, the club would contact Nick to try and resolve the issue. As I previously stated, should that happen and Nick made no more of a comment apart from 'The club and I have resolved our differences' then we would realise that the club and Nick may have learned a valuable lesson. Supporting the team and club is not a one way affair and it does not place either party, fans or club, above question. Why should Nick not be able to have the same choice as you or I regarding match tickets? The club should, at the least, have told him why then, maybe, he might have understood and took it on the chin?
  17. That's the site of the old Bird's Nest dicotheque, late 60's to mid 70's.. As to Mayes being bombed I'm not sure although Edwin Jones most definitely was. They rebuilt into what was at the time a massive department store, now alled Debenhams. There is a memorial to those who lost their lives in the Edwin Jones bombing, it's now locted (I believe) in the middle of the roundabout by the store.
  18. Well, should you ever find yourself in such a situation as Nick finds himself in then you might well be hoping that someone, such as Nick, offers a helping hand. Then again he might adopt your attitude, comment that it doesn't affect him and say, less politely than you have just said, Eff You Mate, I'm Alright. However I suspect he'd still attempt to help you.
  19. Could anyone confirm that Nick Illingsworth asked pertinent questions of the club, the Echo and the Police with reference to issues surrounding the policing of the Pompey game? Others, away from this forum, are quite resolute that he did so and unveiled various discrepancies. One regarding a person being summoned to Bitterne Police for charging, this person 'mooned' at the Skate fans, then subsequently dropping the charge when further evidence, in a Police video, showed the same person stopping Saints fans from trashing a car full of Skate fans. Accordingly NI questioned various aspects and, at the time of doing this, had his season ticket payment credited back to his account. Are the two instances linked? Otherwise I cannot begin to understand why Nick's payment was refused. I don't know him and I have no grudge with either him or the club but a little clarity, even if in private between the two parties, would not go amiss.
  20. The locals have always been revolting. Delusional and totally unable to smell the coffee. Costa anyone?
  21. Maybe try these people? http://www.facebook.com/?sk=lf#!/pages/Limitless-Internet-Solutions/108191715878805 Oh!
  22. You are either a WUM or, more probably, a tool of the highest order.
  23. I have two of these which are as back up to each other. I did pay more for them, back about 18 months when they first came out. Very quiet, just a click from each as my PC boots up.
  24. More amazing is the fact that some 52% didn't vote for a Conservative government, but there you go. Looks like some might get their way on this particular poll though?
