Thanks mate. Is it an upper mate? Probably not. As you say Mike, the fighting was wrong but we needed to group up or be picked out. Safety in numbers was the order of the day. There's quite a few of the 'Old Boys' in the Chapel, some even with their sons but this time round setting a proper example. As to enduring friendships it was much more than that. If you were away and a group of you saw a lone Saint in the mire then you dug in and helped him out. That forged friendships. Even the antagonism between Southampton and Eastleigh was forgotten on a match day. That has all passed now, thank God for that! We have not forgotten our own either. On April 16th there is a Soul Motown night at the Dockies Club for one of the lads who is unable to work through an accident from about 25 years ago. We are raising funds to try and help him make his home far more comfortable. He still gets to the games, sits in the Chapel on his wheelchair. I'll try and have a chat with you if I see you on Saturday.

We just happened to be playing your team this weekend. The jockeying for 2nd is not over and done with. Any of at least four or five teams could claim that place. We are probably in a good position, with games in hand. Games in hand does not equal points on the board so it's all very much up in the air. Your team is one of that group, don't give up on them. Hopefully we will grab 2nd and you'll win the playoffs.
