  1. Interesting that they confuse Leadership with 'rich enough to donate a lot of money' ...and also there business strategy never fails to amaze me. 'It didn't work last time, so let's try it again and see if it does this time'
  2. Sure was fun What's crowd funding? Is that where the club pay for additional fans to come in and fill the empty seats?
  3. When it comes to Councillors you know what you're going to get from them. They're extremely predictable because ultimately they're just mini politicians. It's not about running the country / borough / city well (although they'll claim that's all it is), it's just about winning the race (getting elected). They need to stay popular and hence will do stupid things (like lending the trust huge amounts of money) because they think it will get them votes. Witness Ms Mordant wading into the pfc saga when she thought there was publicity in it for her and now she's disappeared without trace (into a pool whilst donating her fee to the lido.... hey, more publicity!!!) Planners are less predictable. Ultimately they have no god other than policy, and typically they hate councillor interference. They think Councillors are just people with no experience trying to lord it over those with experience and policy on their side. There's nothing I like more than watching a planner having to justify a committee decision (made by Councillors if you didn't know) which goes against all the policies that the planners are bound by. You may have guessed from the above I spend a lot of time with planners (although I'm not one!) By the way, I expect this application to get through but not as easily as some expect.
  4. Even if planning is refused the land will have good value in the medium term. Either pompey will gradually turn it around and will some day be desperate for it back, or alternatively they'll disappear into oblivion (please, please) and the planners will want something done with the land. As much as they look like obstructive idiots sometimes, planners really don't want derelict sites in the middle of cities.
  5. That was aimed at DuncanRG in post 3 obviously
  6. There's no place for you on this forum making statements like that. You need to have firm and self-rightious views even if you know F-all
  7. If that's his opinion then that's his opinion. He's entitled to it. It's no more stupid than a lot on here
  8. This x1000
  9. Less the the player's bonus pool
  10. That he must have broken his comma key sprung to mind when I read it
  11. ...and before anyone jumps on it, it wasn't said like 'I'm not going to be the first to leave, because someone else is already signed up to go', it was said more like there's a constant banter between themselves that whoever breaks the group will have to answer to the others
  12. Ricky made a comment in a TV interview at the weekend, I think it was with either BBC or Sky. He was asked about a potential move that didn't happen in the January window (the inference being West Ham). He just laughed and said I'm not going to be the first one to leave, and to me that is the crux. The attitude is that this team is going somewhere and RL for the next couple of seasons is a major part of it. I can't wait to see if the wrath of RL and AL, will keep Luke Shaw or JRod from being tempted by a big offer.
  13. So we're looking for something like this. A player who is probably in his low to mid twenties Is no worse than the players in our first 11 Has a good work ethic, isn't afraid of running his b*llocks off for 90 minutes Can fit in with the squad and won't be a prima dona (would you like another Osvaldo?) Is available now, mid season, so is coming probably from a team that isn't challenging for any honours or promotion and will need to cost no more than £6m or so. Oh, and in addition, there are at least 10 teams in the prem who want exactly the same thing and probably another 20 in europe. Easy, I can't believe the club have been so inept as to fail in that one. Yawn
  14. Maybe he'll be coming to us. Not as if he's indispensable there!
  15. It'll be bt as itv have the 5.30pm game that day
  16. Can't do linky things but Lovren has just tweeted that he'll be back sooner than we think
  17. Just seen on SSN that the American Superbowl with 90,000 people attending is expected to raise as much as $150m for the local economy. Now someone remind me, how much did the portsmouth councillor suggest was raised by 15,000 (generous guess) pfc supporters each and every home game
  18. I told you this would happen...... This was never going to work....... I'm always right but...... As I predicted...... I think I've sussed you Glasgow. Are you actually a woman? You certainly sound like one.
  19. Not many! 1 year is the average time a manager lasts!!!
  20. That's close to how I see it. I think it's only a matter of (short) time before the family are out of the equation.
  21. Seems to me as usual you know nothing but like to make a noise anyway
  22. Which is why people know it's not yours!
  23. If the board vote to actually sell the club (for actual money!), do the phew that have donated £1000 (sorry, invested £1000) get a share? I'm sure there'd be uproar if they did, because the phew love being a fans owned (isn) club sooooo much
  24. He can sing too? Wow that guys talented!
  25. Ok you've passed the test, you're obviously not a skate. Only a skate would think it's a good idea.
