  1. If you're commenting in response to my team....then I agree, he won't start. But I think he should for many reasons. As for the pint or two....try Porter1872......I doubt you can handle more than 3...maybe even 2😂😂
  2. Yeah I think Southgate has his favourites. I'd be happy to see this line up Pope or Henderson James Stones Coady Shaw Rice JWP Grealish Sancho Foden (fluid 3) Kane
  3. Haha!! I just think that for "free" (depending on wages) he would be a great addition. There's There's very good player in there somewhere!!
  4. I'd take Benteke
  5. The problem is this. He flatters to decieve. He very rarely creates anything of note. He often gives the ball away. His running with the ball is rarely with any intent to go past an opposition player. His scoring rate is poor. The reason I want him to be sold is, other than the factors just mentioned, is that he is extremely unlikely (if at all) to get any better. We need a fresh talent in his position.
  6. To be fair we do not know that he is earning that. It is pure speculation. But you're not far wrong otherwise! Bad move by the club
  7. I'm guessing Lampard will go there and he will no doubt source quite a few players from Chelsea, either cheaply or on loan and hence reducing their outlay this summer. It's a good comparison.
  8. That is true in terms of clearing the decks but then it does require a chunk of change to rebuild!
  9. So come next summer we could be without any first team GK. AM and FF could leave on frees and Gunn may already be gone. Brilliant planning. 😬
  10. On the basis that the club only has at best 20-30m (plus sales) it is going to take some very shred signings to guarantee safety next season. As it stands we are going to be struggling to compete any higher up than we finished. We saw how the end of season form of Sheffield Utd carried into the start of this season. I fear this is a distinct possibility for us next season unless we see 4 or 5 significant improvements. This seems unlikely from a 40-50m type budget. We need to find 4 or 5 players in the 15-25m bracket (slight depression of the market allowed for) rather than 4 or 5 players in the 5-15m bracket. And so I think Gao should take whatever he gets offered (within reason) this summer as next summer we could easily be in the championship and the value of the club and business would be significantly less. Invest 50-75m plus or take a hit of 50-75m..... He clearly can't do the first option.
  11. I agree. Many times I've thought he was experimenting. Almost like a constant experiment... The board should experiment with a different manager as much as I think RH is a decent man.
  12. Vestergaard is a good/decent player....just needs Romeu/equivalent in front of him and someone better alongside, probably Salisu as doubt we will sell Bwdnarek and Stephens to get a new one! And then we need a LB in the style of KWP and a decent keeper
  13. Massive changed needed.
  14. Hes got another game in just under 3 months...
  15. Why mention that useless cvnt.
  16. Why the fuck has he taken our best player (today) off?? 🤬🤬🤬
  17. Why the fuck has he persisted with McCarthy. Get rid FFS.
  18. I think it depends on the versatility of the "third" FB as in KWP being 1, a new out and out LB being 2 whether we sign 2 or 3 FBs. I'm interested to see who we get rid of as I can't help thinking the squad needs a proper overhaul. Easier said than done of course but I would sell; Long, Djeneppo, Redmond, Stephens, McCarthy, Gunn or Forster, Obefemi, and a few of the kids. The kids I'd keep would be Ferry, Tella (pretty clearly!), and Watts. I'd like to see us sign a striker, an AM/winger, DCM, a young CB unless Tchaptchat is deemed ready, a first-choice GK, and obviously some fullbacks.
  19. Overall I think this is a good deal for the club. I suspect when all said and done the real benefit will be the help and effect he has on younger players in the squad and around the club. He is a beacon for the academy and the ethos of the club that we have a great history of producing good and great players who make a living in the game at every level, international, PL and all EPL leagues. The exceptional ones in their early years will inevitably move on and some will stay. The mix of this is what impacts the first team. I'm glad he's here and to have him on the bench (as I predict will be the case quite often) is a good thing, strength their is clearly where we have lacked big time this season and for a while really.
  20. And therein lies the issue. Everything up to the bits that really matter; passing, crossing, and shooting, he looks great. Then he looks mediocre. He is 27 and "should" be in the prime of his life. Instead he looks like someone who is just trying too hard. Someone will get a player who will be good for them, just not us I think now. We should get as much as possible, for our sakes but also for his. He will never be consistently good enough for a team wanting to be in the top half of the PL. Time to move on...
  21. If it was easy I'd sell all 3 and get a couple of new ones in. But it won't be that easy and I don't think they want to. I presume by the switching around of keepers RH is unsure which to keep/sell out of AMc and FF...which in itself is worrting except that its probably budget led. Of the two I prefer FF. We need a really strong player here to build from.
  22. A very good piece of business all things considered. Sure there are better players but for the price of wages the ability he still has - but obviously needs to show it more often - and his vast experience and stature around the club will pay benefits we don't necessarily see. Next...
  23. Maybe we are planning to sell 2 of the 3 to pay for him. I know nothing of this player but siging a keeper in this price range would be a very decent sign.
  24. Pretty fair assessment. I think he's a good player who will improve. Sometimes you can over coach an athlete and give them too many thoughts which impacts instinctive behaviours. It's a fine balance when working with players who's self-confidence fluctuates to extremes.
