Will he be in a year? I suspect so. And if so, worth doing and getting rid of Bednarek or Stephens. Salisu and Vestergaard if he stays should be our starting pair.
-
I didn't say we would. Fact.
-
Well, not really what I meant but yeah. A strong bench is key for tws like us.

I think people need to stop referring to some players as "back-ups". We need 2 players who are fairly close in ability to each other in each position so that we have legitimate competition and csn maintain and push quality, standards and consistency levels. IF we bought Perroud for 10m and Neco Williams for 10m that would be great. Williams would provide great competition on both sides.

Value is not solely determined by ability but by length of contract and cost to replace. For these reasons I place his sale value at 50m MINIMUM. I'd sell at this and get two players at 25m each who are nearer their contract expiration. Selling JWP for less than 40m makes little sense, less than 30m pointless.

I like the idea of Christie. Already knows Armstrong and Adams obviously but in his own right is lively and can create. Would be dirt cheap too.

Maybe but not convinced we will see much more.

Good riddance. Lemina, Forster, McCarthy, Long, Redmond and Djeneppo to go๐๐๐

It's called pessimism.

I've noticed papers will guess at prices and favour the clubs they feel.provides more readership for them, either way in the equation. So in that example it makes it look good for Spurs. Also the selling club will never advertise or hint at their real selling price, its all about negotiation. The Venkys (if true) are just playing the game correctly, put a price out there which isn't going to kill the interest whilst also knowing their acceptable price. Actual prices are rarely what the papers say up front.

When he first played I thought he looked exciting. I camt remember if that was with Romeu or not but certainly since Romeu has been out and he played more often he has certainly looked less exciting. Like you say a fair few loose passes but it also looked to me like he was trying to hard to implement whatever instructions RH gave him and as a consequence was less free. He clearly has some skill and I think he will be better as a box to box type rather than a sitter. If he plays a bit further up the pitch we might see more of his talent.

Made me laugh!!

Nah. Sell them all and get 2 in.

Cheers. Fingers crossed then. Unlikely to gossip I guess.

Hmmm....dont follow this podcast so who is the bloke who said "yes"? Why would he know anything? Very easy to say there is still interested parties without really "knowing".

Not aware of any link to Swansea. Just think he should be sold. As with a few others๐
-
Sell him. Better to get 5 to 10m now than worry about whether we have "let one go". We won't have. He will turn into a journeyman of Akinfenwe stylee...very bulky up top and powerful runner. Lower league career I expect.

Cedric 1.72m KWP 1.74m Perraud 1.73m Bertrand 1.79m Not really an issue I'd suggest.

At the fee quoted we've probably done well if he's better than Targett!!

I'm 50:50 on selling Ings this summer possibly for as little as 20m. The argument that we would be better off losing him for nothing because by having him for a season would supposedly guarantee PL status and income is flawed because of his injury record. It's the gamble between keep and lose for free or sell and have to replace and hope we stay up. Net spend on a replacement this summer maybe less than 10m. Net spend if we let him go for free would likely need to be 20m+. If signs an extension brilliant. If not, sell now imo. The players we need to sell to pool funds are - all 3 keepers - Vestergaard (and possibly Bednatek too) - Redmond - Djeneppo And the others not involved last season. Selling JWP makes no sense unless it is a stupid fee - over 60m.
-
Value very different to selling price. With 4 years and only 26 and fitness levels and ability if we were to sell for less than 60m it would be a very bad move.
-
Maybe, maybe not. Still equates to state we're in. The reasons for no investment are irrelevant. We need someone or a group that can deliver a long term investment and development plan.

When he was signed on loan I thought it could be good. Because of the FA Cup, the loan rule he was then in and out of tbe team and I think that disrupted his start. I would be ok with him returning as I think he can add some goals (unlike Redmond or Djeneppo, both of whom I'd look to move on), but cant help thinking that we need someone better. Perhaps selling Redmond and Djeneppo and getting one permanent and Minamino would be good.
